Battery Widget Wisdom?

Hi everyone, new to the forum and android - having just gotten my Infuse Gingerbread 2 weeks ago, I am, for the mostpart, loving it. I'm coming from an older BB Curve and, amusingly, the last Samsung I owned was an SCH-3500 -- needless to say, the Infuse is a considerable upgrade.

A "game" that I've been playing a lot on the Infuse is trying to see how far I can stretch the battery life, while still having a rewarding user experience.

To that end, here's a possibly stupid question: would using a 3rd party battery monitor widget drain the phone's battery to the point where wouldn't be worth having said widget? Or would the battery widget's power consumption be negligible to the point where it really wouldn't make a meaningful difference in battery performance?

Thanks for any feedback!

My husband uses one on his infuse and i have one on my phones and tablets. Never really noticed any significant battery drain. My husband went from an inspire to infuse and said the battery is way better and he usually leaves the screen brightness up high.

I use circle battery widget and i think he does too but there was another that i can't remember the name of.

Thanks, 2manyphones, good to know. I've been looking at one that's simply called "Battery Widget" - it sounds like the drain issue is not of any real concern and the widget has gotten good reviews and few complaints.

Thanks again!

I used one called battery widget I think the dev's name started with geek or something like that. It was a good app didn't have any issues with it, i only switched to the circle widget cause I like changing the color to match my wallpaper/color scheme
