Root Best network settings when using reppards cm7???

I am well aware that I will never be able to be comfortable and happy running an android on 1x data but there has to be something I can do to increase my data speed. Can someone please tell me the best network settings to use with the rom because I am without wifi now and its just not cutting it. Before I flashed this rom my speeds were a bit faster but not much, my biggest issue is that my market hardly ever opens for me to browse apps and even when it does it takes atleast 5 minutes to start a download and another 20 to reach 100% then another 5 just to install the app. I am updated to my areas recent prl 3019 (metro Detroit)

Any tips or solutions will be greatly appreciated.

have you tried the other PRLs (latest is 3025) and are you aware of the market from your PC? I dont have wifi either and im stuck at 1x but i save myself the trouble of having to wait for the market to load by just googleing "android market" on my pc or just go here https://market.android.com/?hl=en and log in with your gmail username and password and then browse apps there. When you see an app that you want all you have do is click "install" and it will ask you which one of your devices that you want to send it too. Just choose the one you want and it shold start automatically downloading on your phone shortly....of course if you dont have a pc with an internet connection then this wont help you. But i have pretty shitty service where i live and it works pretty awesomely for me. Im pretty sure that you have to have the newest version of the android market for it to work for you tho. If you dont have that i can send the apk to you.

I appreciate your response, yes I am aware of the pc version and honestly there really is no apps or games in the market i need I was using it as an example.

As far as manually updating my prl, unless I am mistaken would it not be pointless to use a prl that isn't supported in my area? What I mean is If I use *228 and update my prl and it doesn't update higher than 3019, doesn't that mean putting one on higher would just be using an incompatible prl? Or would it actually be a noticeable change to my signal and data?

That's exactly what I thought cuz when I dial *228 even if I am on a higher PRL it brings me back to 3019. But I have been manually updating since 3020 came out and my service just keeps getting better lol

You can use new PRL's, here look at this since you're in tha D: http://androidforums.com/lg-optimus-m/430795-im-so-happy-3g-detroit.html Try 3024 PRL. I saw someone say that they get good 3g in Detroit with that PRL.

I use PRL 3025 and have had nothing but success out of it. I barely see that old 1x icon and my data speeds are alot faster. It's nice being able to turn off wifi to save battery while gaming and not having to worry about missed notifications like market updates. It also GREATLY improves the performance of "TiKL Touch to Talk" app. :)

I got no 3G on 3025; back to 3024...
