Leaving the Desire - thanks to all

VM use the T-Mobile network, who merged with Orange.

Giffgaff run on the o2 network and here in Northern Ireland my experience has been the coverage is much better on Giffgaff.

btw VM offering 5gb of data is a bit of a joke really cos I doubt many people would go anywhere near that.

(Disclosure: I'm on Orange, so I'm allowed to be rude about them - actually I'm obliged to be!).

same here :D well former customer....so again still allowed to be rude :p

likewise I can bad mouth Royal Mail, being an ex postal worker myself for said company ;):p:D

anyways lol

*cough*orange are crap*cough*

:D

I haven't been on Orange since the Nokia 3210. Basic Voice and SMS.

Can I still be rude?

Also, my name is Orange :)

nor would I, thats my point...you have to tread carefully insulting orange there lol

hell if we are really going to be honest, its probably still the greatest phone.....the desire, the samsung galaxy s2 and even the iPhone 4...no of them come close to it really...seriously if nokia re-released it EXACTLY as it was then...no fancy os change etc...it would beat everything :D :p

to be fair its better than most nokia phones out now....yes yes...touch screens, 12 mega boob cameras...blah blah.....still runs symbian which is showing its age een if the new 'bella' update gives it a 'fresh' look....

3210 beats all :p

Nah, my old Nokia 2140 (the original "Orange Nokia") was the only phone I ever bought whose real world performance exceeded the marketing claim. They said "up to 18 hours standby", but I could get 23 out of it - that's almost 30% extra!

My first ever phone was the 3210 with vodafone. Think i used to charge it once a week as it had nothing on it really to drain the battery. I dont think you can beat SE for battery life tho. :)

I had no intention to replace my desire but an piece uninsured droppage put paid to that plan. After a week of contemplation T-mob offered me a Desire S for £7.71/month, and in these times of austerity I couldn't really say no.

Wow! Nice deal! How did you manage to get that? And what allowences do you get with it if I may ask?

It may be a T-mobile retention deal. They seem to be offering some good ones at the moment

Not half. I hope I will be offered something similar as I'm on t-mobile. I have a feeling not as I'm not a long serving customer as I defected from O2 only last year.
