Office Pro free on Amazon 15$

I grabbed this one myself this morning. Anyone have any experience with it? I don't really find myself needing mobile access to any Office products frequently, but all it takes is one project for this type of app to be worth its weight in gold. One thing I used to like about my Winmo phone is the ability to do inventory with it, as opposed to walking around with a pen and paper and then transferring it to a spreadsheet and then going to revisit some office equipment because I couldn't read my own chicken scratch.

ppt support is the only thing I think I will need it for. My company loves to send out. "oh by the way it is a casual tuesday" powerpoints that I couldn't open on my phone, I should have a chance to test it out in the next two days unless someone here really drops the ball.

lol, wow a powerpoint presentation to tell you it's ok to wear jeans? Someone's proud of their powerpoint training....

What I would do is create a powerpoint reply saying, "Oh ok, I'm sure our IT department appreciates the extra bandwidth used with these powerpoint presentations sent out to the entire group"...but of course that would be
rude.

Actually I think the person who sends them out doesn't realize with outlook you can do more than just attach things you can even type words in those email things, if they are proud of the ability to make power points they shouldn't be they are ususally between 2 and 4 slides and filled with clipart and stock backgrounds. I think they just don't have anything better to do and think this is a good way to waste time
kinda like me on AF ;)

What do you mean?

I went to sign in, it gave me a password error. I only use a few possibles, none worked, so I reset it. It then told me that I had another account, and had to verify that I wanted to use this one with this password. So I say yes, it sends me a verify link to my e-mail. I verify, it accepts, says thanks, and asks me to sign in with the password - which it then won't accept. I can do that process over and over, and never get in.

I finally said the hell with it, and just made a new account under my business e-mail and info. Figure I may get stuff on there for the biz someday anyway, might as well.

All in now. Only thing I wish, is that it would show which apps I already have, as "installed" or whatever on the list of apps in the store. Like Pandora, etc. It should at least recognize somehow that I already have it installed!

But, that's just a side ramble :)

You may get DRM errors as well with some of the installed apps so you may want to check that, if so I think I would be contacting Amazon

well, this is actually the first time I've used the amazon app store, and the first app I've installed with it as well, all under the new account, so I hope that I'm safe from that :) Time will tell though.

If that is the case you don't want them to show in the amazon market. I have a couple apps on my bolt installed from the market and on my mp3 player from the amazon app store and they show up on the amazon market on my bolt as an update, it will give me an error if I try to update them and 99% of the time the version on amazon is older than the verson on the market because of the approval process amazon mandates

If you ever get a new phone, you'll have to sign into your Amazon account in order to re-download any apps that you've already downloaded from Amazon.

Yeah, I'm definately gonna keep track of which ones are installed via Amazon, versus the one's I've gotten direct from the market (pardon my noobness to Amazon's ways, but is there an easy way to do that? identify which ones were from where, other than using the Amazon app to only see which ones are listed for it?)

Amazon remebers what apps you download from them, market apps won't show up as your apps in the amazon app store. Also if you don't use something like appbrain the amazon apps shouldn't show up in the market. Just a PITA to have to check multiple places for updates

Agreed. I noticed that the only app showing in the Amazon app store is the Office today, so I'll just make sure I keep track of any. I don't imagine I'll be using it a LOT, just for certain apps that I find interesting as free, and must-have.

Thanks :)

I use it for the free app of the day check each morning before logging onto AF, sometimes they will put a decent game up or a good app ususally it is crap tho ;) Also if you are going to buy an app sometimes if it is on both the market and amazon it will be cheaper on amazon but you will get the updates later generally.
