Help was the android battery bug really solved in 2.3.4?

Hi,
I've been having some battery trouble in the last few days so i decided to leave 2.3.3 behind and use lite'ning rom 6.1 (built on 2.3.4)..
But i am feeling as though the bug is still there (or a similar issue)
I leave my phone idling for a few hours and come back to a 50% phone (that includes few minutes of gps and wifi)
any input?

I am prepared to be corrected, but I don't think that there ever was a bug in that sense.

The earliest ROMs were particularly poor and the situation has improved with each new ROM but it's a matter of gradual tweaks not fixing a bug.

The fact is that the battery is very small and the phone is very powerful. You are never going to see the sort of battery life we got used to before smartphones came along. At least we have the iPhone 4GS woes to laugh at...

I have to say that Lightn'ing ROM was one of the worst custom ROM's, in my experience, for battery life.

Try re-calibrating your battery using this method:-

which I have found to be very reliable.

You should always re-calibrate your battery when changing ROM's.

As I mention in another thread, I know it works.... I just don't understand why it works better than my usual Battery reset in Recovery mode or using the Battery Calibration app.

It certainly sorted out my spurious battery stat's after flashing both Revolution and Dlev ROM's, in one day, last week.

Further on in the thread, that I posted earlier, it does explain the science behind it and why Battery Reset and Battery Calibration don't work on the SGSII.... but I'll be blowed if I understand it.
