Help XWKI4 (CPW-UK) 2.3.4 & CSC question.

i have installed PDA:XWKI4 -PHONE: XXKI1 - Android 2.3.4 (CPW UK) ,installed it over my original O2 branded 2.3.3. my CSC is i9100XEUKH2 (Kies states it as KH2 (O2U)

all is working great, but was wondering.....

my phone can't find a new 2.3.5 update, plus kies says "this version of the device cannot be updated". is there a 2.3.5 update available for CPW UK yet, and if so, is my O2 CSC stopping me from receiving it?

hmm, did u flash KI4 via Odin? coz if so, u might not be able to update via Kies, if ur region does not have the KI4 firmware already released

yeah, i flashed via odin. i realise that i cannot update via Kies (hence the "this version of the device cannot be updated" message), but was wondering if my phone itself would ever pickup a 2.3.5 update via settings>about phone>software update?

no it won't, you stuck with the odin route now (which isnt a bad thing)

I would recommend xxki4 rather than the xwki4 you flashed. That is 2.3.5 and the best one I have found.

cheers Daz for the info. since i have upgraded to 2.3.4, my phone has been running pretty sweet and battery life is vastly improved. what improvements would i get with XXKi4? and can you point me in the direction of a XXki4 UK firmware? many thanks :)

Ive found it to be the fastest and most stable, getting the best battery life too.

I would recommend a factory reset before and after flashing. But thats me. Dont forget to back up your settings before doing so.

just put the .tar.md5 file in pda section.
 
many thanks again. flashed and rooted :) can i use any XXKi4 secure kernel to get rid of the yellow triangle (USB jig still in transit), or is there a specific one?
