Can LTE be turned off?

I was just wondering if LTE can usually be turned off on a phone, I've never had a smartphone and the more I read about this one, the more I come over from the Gnex.

I know there are widgets you can download for other phones to toggle between using LTE or 3G. (I.e.: disabling LTE.) I assume they'll work on the RAZR as well, if not right away, then after the devs revise them within the first week or two.

Yesterday, I verified on a unit at Verizon store, that you can switch to cdma only mode, by going to settings-mobile networks, same as you can on the Droid Charge.

Good to know, because the reviews have mixed things to say about the battery, so I'll probably turn it off and turn it on when I need it since I am around wi-fi most of the time.

One of the things I really like about Samsung's Touchwiz UI is the pulldown menu has icons for toggling different settings. I believe they include toggle mobile data, Wi-Fi, bluetooth, gps, and ringer. So simple yet so useful...

i'm not 100% sure but i think i've seen that on non-samsung devices also. if not, that's what beautiful widgets is for ;)
