Root [CDMA] [ROM] 12/30/11 - CleanROM 3.0 Preview 1 Now Available

I finally started having issues last night with this Rom, when I got up during the night my phone was stuck on the Sprint splash screen, the only difference I did yesterday was install Set CPU, so that could be the only change I see, I had to do a battery pull to get her back up and running. I decided to uninstall Set CPU and will see if it happens again, I know Scott is already working on a new release.
 
Just weighing in... So far, so good here. Day four and no issues. Installed CRT animation and really like it. I have a different Beats mod I use though because I didn't want to disable the hotspot hack ;) Also installed Volume + and do notice a difference.
 
Seems like a few over @ XDA had a similar issue overnight, like there may have been a forced update, awaiting to see what Scott has to say. They also woke up to a screen saying the phone had been updated. Mine simply was stuck on the splash screen weird.
 
My phone got updated too when I woke up this morning. I wonder what did it update.

I had to do a reboot this morning when my internet hang. Now everything is fine so far.

I have tried that several times now. With battery pull, etc. No luck.


If I call Sprint get my password to do a data profile restore, as in ##3282# , data profile restore, will that make this worse? No effect?


(also, I have noticed that I can no longer call *2 after root.)

All problems seem to be solved now!

I installed the SprintZone from the ROM Updater. I called Sprint, they made me pull the battery, then they changed the NAI address. I powered on and I did another data profile restore. Back in business!

I awoke to the same mystery update yesterday. When I woke my phone I had a message that said my phone had been updated with just an OK button. Was odd because I have made sure updates were disabled. Fwiw I have experienced no ill effects though.
 
Any ideas on why the wifi tether may not be working? I was using cr2.2 with a custom kernal. Last night i:
-Factory wiped
-Wiped cache
-Format cache
-Then in 'mounts and storage' formated system/ data /cache (this is the first time I've noticed that format boot is gone from this version)
-wiped davlik

Then flashed cr2.7 and rebooted. No worky.

I should clarify. My win7 laptop is able to connect to the phone. Both the WiFi app and the network settings on the laptop agree on this. There is no data transfer to the internet.

But the phone does have 3g access. I'm using to now to make these posts.
 
Paully, I ran into the same thing with the tether as you did, even before CleanROM. Could get my netbook and laptop to connect but no Internet. It frustrated me because I like to fix things and make them work. I just gave up once I found the hacked hotspot and found that it worked. :)
 
OK, this is going to sound crazy but I downloaded the wifi tether from the above link (I'm hardheaded ;)) and changed the device to EVO 3D and checkmarked the enable routing fix in settings and now I can use it with my laptop. Go figure!
 
Yep, it has always worked for me, but usually it is a setting issue, but the beta 6 version has always worked for me. The only issue sometimes is accepting it to connect when you turn it on, sometimes I forget, LOL :D

I installed CleanROM 2.7 yesterday after having MIUI for awhile. Got tired of things not working on it. Very happy with CleanROM!
