Droid: Add additional Home Screens for icon shortcuts

call me a wuss.. but i figure i'll wait for the OTA and not have a possibility of bricking my phone and/or voiding my warantee :) I'm not a linux guru.

Wuss! lol, I'm no guru either, but I did it, and the risk to bricking the phone seems to me to be nonexistant. If you dont want to root, then it looks like you will be waiting until the 2.1 OTA. Bummer.

I just tried the "folders" that aaronbrannt mentioned above, and it is a great idea. Keeps everything well organized, uncluttered screens and you don't have to worry about losing anything in the process.

Have you tried Apps Organizer? You can label all of your apps with one or multiple categories, and then add folder categories to your home screens that are automatically populated with the labeled apps.

app by the same developer, but what's the diff?? hard to see/tell from the description. can you explain how Home++ and Launcher+ are different?

I mean remove the widgets off your screen before you add them to Launcher+ screens, not delete the app. Some widgets act weird when placed multiple times.

Home++ looks different than the stock. Launcher+ looks stock but has more screens, and now they added that switcher. If you want it to still look stock, stay with Launcher+, Home++ will look different as there is different features.

I added a couple folders to store my apps. I need to delete one of the folders, but I can't seem to do it. Can someone tell me how to delete folders?

Do I feel stupid. I have deleted many other icons by dragging them to the trash can. I just didn't think about doing that to the folder. Thanks Joe.

Launcher pro by federico carnales is MUCH HAPPIES!! 2 to 7 screens nice scroll options, you can landscape your home screens when not in a dock. And works without root.

Just got the Droid and gave up my iPod Touch so I was lost with the lack of pages, Apps Organizer is a great alternative though, thanks.

I just discovered this trick today and indeed (at least with Gingerbread on a GS2) you can add and delete home screens:

Add or Remove Home Screens:
Pinch any home screen by placing your forefinger in the top corner and your thumb in the opposite bottom corner and pinch. This will give you tiles which you can now delete or add to. You can
