Root Droid 3 One Click Root for X2 2.3.4 OTA

Not that I am aware of. Just to clarify.. Have you tried an app that requires root access and it's not working? If this is the case and the SU icon is just sitting there and the rooting methods aren't working it seems as though somewhere along the process something did not clear itself out when you did the update. The only logical step I can think to make is to clear cache and wipe data. This puts the phone back to stock.

Any apps on my phone that require root access are denied root access, including the superuser app itself. In the post you linked me to it says to uninstall superuser but I can't. Should I go ahead with a factory reset anyways?

Well after much strangeness and factory resets and an SBF and update later I finally got to 2.3.4 with no root or superuser app, then the one click root worked just fine from there. Thanks for the help.

I tried to use Pete's "One Click" but I can't seem to get my phone connected. After I hit a key to proceed the message states "waiting for phone to be connected". I don't know what to do. I have set the usb to charge only and debugging. I'm running 2.3.4 brand new X2

Update: All set, I did not have the driver installed. Now if anyone has a fix for the "wireless tether" I would be grateful.

is there a way to unroot from this if there for some reason i need to take my droid x2 to verizion for anything

I just used peete's method on my DX2 using a Mac and I can confirm it totally works on 2.3.4 after I updated to it OTA from a rooted version of 2.3.

Thanks very much!

Im having trouble doing this on my mac, could you give me like a short step by step guide on how you did it? Im a first time rooter...
