Notification on Hard buttons?

I was wondering if anyone else figured this out or what not, but are we able to have the hard button lights flash for notification on the Optimus V? Since we don't have a normal blinky light. Is there an option possibly?

Guess you could start here, but requires the phone to be rooted which isn't ideal for the majority of users:

Never really researched market to see if there is an app.

I believe there are "no LED" apps in the market. They light up a tiny part of the screen as notification to make up for a lack of LED on the phone. I have never used any of them so can't vouch for them or recommend any one in particular, but it may be another satisfactory option.

The problem with that is that displaying even a single pixel requires the entire display to be powered

^And that would probably be why personally chose not to use it. I remember someone or a few someones talking about that issue with it a while ago.
