Esteem General Issues Thread

Anybody notice you can talk and go on the web at the same time? I was under the impression that was GSM only...
 
Its 8 gigs 4 is being used by the rom/system/phone 4 gigs is free for the user which is where you can use it just like an sd card and store your music,pictures,downloads,you apps makes folders to store cache and data and such,etc, etc on.

I personally dont put music on internal I put it all on my external card everything else I keep on the internal tho. Music adds up quick and will eat that 4gigs pretty quick depending on the mp3 file size of each song you put on it.
 
I have a similar issue, my LG esteem is brand new and when i try to end the calls the phone takes around 5 sec. I erase everything and it response good, i think that it had a lot of apps running, is there an issue with this phone handling the load? is this phone as good and fast as they said?!

no problems here, you might want to checkout LG Optimizer from the market, but your phone must be rooted. ;)
 
How can you make the LG Esteem into a hotspot in infrastructure mode?

All the apps i have tried only let me use ad hoc mode so my tablet cannot see my phone to connect.
 
Garden tether app didn't work, same as about 7 others I tried. Only let me send out an ad-hoc wifi signal.

I solved my problem:

Had to use the wifi_tether_v3_1-pre101.apk which is still a version in progress.

Then in settings it says "Change Device-Profile" I clicked that and chose "LG Optimus S" as my phone. Yea I know we have LG esteem but it is not listed.

Once i did this, I clicked "press to start tethering" and my kindle fire can now connect with 4G speed through my LG esteem.

So, the officially released version does not have this option to choose phone, so you need to try a beta or experimental version of this program such as the ion I listed above in this post.
 
Was messing around in RE and in my data>app folder theres a zip file called com.rhythmnewmedia.discovery.1.zip ........What the heck is it? Anyone else have it in theirs? Inside of it is an Android Manifest, a res folder and a resources.arsc

Looks like you have the Discovery channel app installed.
 
Hey everyone first smartphone here. Wanted to know if anyone has any suggestions about volume even at max its not that loud. When i have someone on speaker or listening to music thru speaker its good. but when i put in my head phone its kinda crappy. also I read the owners manual and i doesnt say what the temp passcode is to set up my voicemail. Thanks ahead of time and Happy thanksgiving!
 
Anybody run zeppelinrox's V6 supercharger script on the Esteem yet?

Played with it alot on the Ascend but hesitant to play with too much on the Esteem since no recovery.
