Help HTC Desire Freezes When I Try to Record Video...

I've just recently bought the phone and am so amazed at it - it completely blows my old phone out of the water! However, I've had it a couple of days and something has come up which is really annoying. The video initially recorded fine and I have 2 home videos in my folder. However, if I try and record a video now - no matter what resolution, the icons and time disappear around the edge when I press the track button. Then nothing happens when I try to press it again (the video feed continues though). Then I can use the Home button to escape out of it but when I try to go back to camera / video it just brings up a black screen. The only way to reset it is to reboot the phone. Is there a way to do a force close next time or do I have to keep turning the phone off then on again? Is this a known problem? Is it an SD problem or a software problem? Any solutions? The phone is running the following: Android Version 2.2 Baseband version 32.49.00.32U_5.11.05.27 Kernal version 2.6.32.15-gd96f2c0 htc-kernal@and18-2 #1 Build number 2.14.207.3 CL274424 release-keys Software number 2.14.207.3 Browser version WebKit 3.1 Thanks in advance for any help! =)

Nobody? Is this a common problem? Is it hardware or software related? =)

Sounds like a software problem to me and the only thing I can suggest are any of the following:

1. Factory reset

2. Update to the official 2.3 RUU

3. If you are rooted, try a different rom and see if it persists

Not ideal but I can't think of anything else, If its as you got it out of the box (ie not rooted) and you tried the factory reset to no avail, I'd take it back to the shop you bought it or manufacturer under warranty.
