[International / GSM] Always Active Menu + Search

Found this today over at MoDaCo forums. Paul found a way to move the "three-dot" menu button as well as keep them active all the time. The best part is he found a way to integrate the search button into the dock so that we have access to it all the time in every app.

Note: This hack requires the phone to be rooted.

I saw the menu changes, but had not seen the integrated search button.

Also, this is a prime example of why I think soft buttons are a great way to handle things. You never have to be constrained to what hardware you are running.

I like the mods with the search button and menu button on either side. I'm excited to see what all can be done with ICS once the devs really get working. I bet CM9 will have some very useful tweaks.

So if it keeps active all the time, it doesn't disappear for more space on video, games unlike stock ICS? And I don't see menu button there, only search button inserted between home and task button.

Click the link that Stigy provided and it's in the screenshots. The menu button is on the sides and is the 3 dots.

"Menu button active all the time" doesn't mean the video can't make the entire button bar disappear. It means the menu button itself is always displayed on the button bar.
