Help Anyone able to watch TV on droid from Orb.com?

You know, when I first got the phone, Orb was one of the first things I tried, and it worked with no problems. Then when I saw this thread I went back and tried it again and it wasn't working. Since then I've updated to 2.0.1 and haven't tried it in a while. I think I'll give it another shot and see if the streams will work properly.

Yup, I am thinking 2.0.1 rendered something inoperable, such as the ability to play the other 3gp formats. In fact Im fairly certain that is what is going on.

Its really pretty disappointing that this thread isnt getting more attention.

I have 2.0.1 and Orb works just fine on either 3G or WiFi. I just tried it to make sure before posting this.

Correct, the sdp 3gp format works fine but looks like trash. The other two 3gp formats for orb dont work, though Im faily certain they did at one time. When i first got my droid, I tried orb and it popped the tv show right up. No chcanging the settings, no opening the downloaded stream file. Something has definately changed.

Before I go out to spend money on a TVtuner for my CPU does anyone know if I will be able to watch the YES network. Its a must to see my NY Yankees.

PS. I do have the YES network on my cable channel lineup.

Unfortunately that's what happened to me too. Never changed anything in the Orb settings and it was gravy. Now, nothing. I would love to know what changed or why.

Steps I used to get mine to work.

Change both settings to the SDP 3gp stream (on the phone as well as on the computer) (iv had to do the phone one a few times because when it saves to restart orb it will go back)

Downloaded the soft encoder i mentioned my last post up there ^

Clicked to play the channel.

If i says it cant be played I cleared cache and cookies. (idk but it worked)

So yea, Its full screen. Sounds in sync. Using default player as well as default browser. Everythings fine :)

Except it looks like trash.

Does anyone know how to get a hold of the folks at google and inform them of the issue?

Are you running the stream over Wifi or 3G Nick? Mine looks fine over Wifi (wish it was a little better) but does look choppy and horrible over 3G

Both. On wifi I can crank the orb settings to like 1500kbs and it looks decent but not great. on 3g it is blocky and looks horrible. when you could use the other 3gp formats (not sdp) it looked perfect on 3g.

OrbLive is now available for purchase on the Market for $9.99.
Seems to work well - streaming from my Win7 x64.

Today I bought OrbLive for my Droid. It goes well until I select a channe; for live TV. No matterwhat I select it errors "not a valid channel". Orb works fine with the default browser.

Anyone else have this? I have a few hours left to return it to the market.

hey guys. one thing i have noticed is that while im streaming on my droid that if i try to access anything else with orb from the PC that it stops the stream. Im guessing cause its using the same port. just an FYI to those that are experiencing errors.

I finally fixed mine by reinstalling Orb on my PC. It seems to work fine now.

Just finished reading thru this thread, tried all the suggested options and I'm experiencing a problem not mentioned. I get sound from the live tv stream, but no picture. Is there a setting I'm missing? Thanks for any suggestions.

Can you watch TV on the PC running Orb? ie, open program guide and select the show so that it pops up in media player, or quicktime, or whatever you're using?

Yes. Orb works fine on the PC. I have the stream set to sdp 3gp format and it opens up Quicktime player on the PC. I can also browse the folders on my PC from my Droid thru Orb.

I just setup Orb, but don't see anywhere to set the stream. I am just using media files as I have no tuner card atm, is this why I can't set anything? I have tested the Orblive player, and all my media works.. however it looks like complete crap only using like 1/2 the screen.
