Root [CDMA] Quick Question About Rooting/Wireless Tethering

I want to root my phone so I can use wireless tethering on my phone without having to pay for it. I have HBOOT 1.5. From my understading I know I have to use the HTC method, but my question comes with mainly the tethering. after i complete the HTC method will i be able to download and use the tether or do i need to install superuser first? I dont really want a different rom, like i said i pretty much only want the tethering feature (and delete the bloatware).

You can root, then load a sense base Rom without all the bloat and be able to tether and have WiFi hotspot available.

If you have the hack....If not Try Barnacle. You may have to go into settings and Disable the wpa_supplicant...but it works perfect.

If you just follow the instructions for rooting you can stay on the stock rom. No need to change roms. Part of the instructions is flashing the su.zip

Wifi Tether works well also. Using it right now actually.

Got it rooted, downloaded barnacle and root explorer, got rid of the bloatware i wanted. Thanks to all for the help
