NOV 29th Pre Order

the best buy sites are listing $299 yet the verizon rumors are $199? hmmm.. confusing

I'm thinking it will be $199 though..
 
Nothing is confirmed, everything is speculation, and every bit of info on this phone being launched on VZW is as solid as a fart in the wind.
 
Regardless, make sure you pre-order this phone when the date does come cause if it was anything like the release of the Droid Incredible, people had to wait up to a couple months to get their hands on that phone.
 
Gee, maybe it really is confirmed! My wife's cousin's uncle says he knows a guy at work who knows a guy at Verizon who said it's true!!

Oh and Definitely sure its confirmed! My brother used to date a girl whose step-brother lived across the street from the ex-wife of a guy that cleaned up after closing at a Verizon reseller. She said she asked him WHEN the phone was coming out and he said "MmmmHmmm..." I mean how much more confirmation do we need?

Hey, I know that guy!
 
My wife works at the Verizon callcenter where we live. She, very literally, knows absolutely nothing about this phone. She has had trainings, very similar to what we get floating around in those pictures. The callcenter people (though she works in LNP, the port center, and only handles customer service overflow) has been given a specific "verbage" to use when asked about the phone. They are to sign them up via email about an announcement for when the phone is ready for pre-order and release.

While this isn't new news or very helpful, this is the extent of my knowledge. I will know immediately when the phone will go on pre-sale, when Verizon hammers down an internal date, and I will know the release date, as well. For the last few phones I've had (Incredible and Thunderbolt) I've had the pre-sale and release dates about a week before. All that uber insider knowledge, ya know.

If or when I hear anything I'll let you guys know. Until then, chin up. The phone WILL come out. Have some patience.
 
Nothing confirmed about it. Hearing "more than a trickle of reports" does not equal confirmation.

For as much as people get worked up about the phone being "late" or "delayed" or whatever the hell, I'd say the vast majority of that stems from the community stirring up its own rumor mill.

The less we pay attention to all that BS the better. Phone will be out when it's ready.

I can second that. One of my good friends works at our VW call center up here, and my brother works in sales in an actual Verizon store. Neither one of them have been told a single thing about this phone's release. The call center reps received tech support training on it about two weeks ago, and there are accessories in the stores, but they have zero release date or pre-order information. They've actually both asked me since I spend so much time looking it up. When a VW employee has to go to the rumor mill to find out a potential release, you know there's a problem.

It's really getting frustrating. Verizon is not earning any respect points by staying completely silent. Even an announcement saying it's being delayed would do more to build confidence in their company, but the lack of any communication whatsoever is nerve racking.
 
It looks like the Computerworld blog author has deleted all the comments that were posted earlier today that flamed his use of the word "confirmed". Talk about weak sauce...He was a tool for ever using that word, knowing the backlash he'd get when it didn't pan out.
