Keep the Thunderbolt or get a Stratosphere?

So, a couple of days ago I got the TB for free during Black Friday Weekend. So far, I like it. The only problem I have had is unpredictable ringtones (which I understand is a widespread problem. Anyone thinks they will correct this?). However, I am concerned about all the problems people have had with it, and considering trading it in for a Samsung Stratosphere (also free). Are most of these TB problems resolved? Should I get the Stratosphere instead? Thoughts?

First off, congratulations on getting your new bolt! I know there are many people out there that have reported having problems ie. txt msg bug, vm icon bug, and the list goes on; my wife and I both have bolts (got them day 1) and neither have given us problems (hers=stock, mine=rooted a month ago). I haven't heard about unpredictable ringtones though, what do you mean? The ringer only decides to go off upon receiving a call or txt msg when it wants to?

As far as comparing the Thunderbolt to the Stratosphere....

For the Thunderbolt, more internal storage (8gb vs 4gb), more RAM (768mb vs 512mb) better gps quality, better rear camera (8mp vs 5mp).

For the Stratosphere, bigger battery (1,800 mAh vs 1,400 mAh), better screen quality, better bluetooth quality, ohh and it has a slide out keyboard (if that's your thing)

Overall I'd say go with the Thunderbolt, but that might be a biased opinion.

*EDIT* here's a link to a comparo

The internal storage that is usable on the bolt is more like 2.5 GB. Are they still advertising it as 8 nine months later? That being said I've had my share of bolt trouble and would not touch the Sammy. As far as the ringtones, the phone decides when and which custom ringtone it feels like playing when receiving a call, not necessarily the one assigned to that contact. Its happened to me one time so I can't really complain.

Thanks! I think I'll keep the TB. One more thing: the text messaging to the wrong recipient thing is kind of worrisome. Did the GB update correctly resolve this? Has anyone heard of the error happening since the GB update?

I haven't heard of it since Gingerbread. Verizon and HTC claim in the update log GB resolved it. I never had the problem myself.

Never had that problem either. Had once it change what I said in a text message to my wife. I sent one thing and she received something different and started a big fight.

If you're a brand new Verizon customer, Amazon was selling the Rezound for $.01 to new customers with a 2 year contract...

Thats a killer deal for a top of the line phone. I played with the razr and the rezound and must say both are phones I wouldnt mind owning.

Thanks! I am quite happy with it so far (aside from the ringtone bug & (of course) battery life). This is my first smartphone so I am not quite ready to root it.

I had that issue til I downloaded handcent and then gosms. Both are good text messaging apps that won't send the text to the wrong person (at least since I've been using them)
