Root SirPsycho's Recovery 0.99.3b

Have you installed this already? Any noticeable differences? Seems a bit odd that it wasn't SirPsycho who posted that and I don't see it on the sholes site either.
 
I just found it on the Sholes site. Seems legit. I'm just a little more paranoid about installing stuff that really fiddles with such important things on my phone.
I'm installing it now, will report back.
 
BB 0.7.6 was being finicky, so I finally just left it alone for about 5 minutes after a battery pull, and it seemed to get stable, so I just flashed to Recover 0.99.3b:

And I was able to do it via ADB shell just as easily as the method outlined in the recovery thread.

What issue were you having with BB 0.7.6? Mine kept boot cycling after being up for about a minute. Thats why I'm trying out the BB 2.1 because if I gotta do a nandroid backup why not give this a go first.
 
Same - but it has stopped now. I suspect that rather than showing the Moto symbol as it processes everything it needs to like before, that now it goes ahead and loads the lock screen, while *still* processing in the bg, so that if we unlocked too early it went stupid.

Mine actually black screened on my twice. Hence the battery pull. I am going to send a reboot command via adb and see if I can now unlock as it comes up - but the funny thing is that, although it (subjectively) seems more responsive, the boot seems quite the opposite - it seems to take longer for 0.7.6 to boot than 0.7.5 did....s
 
Yea I think I'll be going back the 0.7.6 tomorrow. This 2.1 Beast just ain't doing it for me. I'll keep in mind what you said about the start up processes continuing on after the boot screen.
 
I also noticed that you need to let everything load a lot on 0.7.6 than you did on 0.7.5 - even after 3 manual reboots if I unlock too soon, the SDCard is still preparing, most of my apps don't work, Voice search FCs,.....
 
Thanks for the link. I didn't know how to do it. But when I installed the Smoked Glass Rom is already came with 0.99.3b, so I knew I didn't need to do it. But it's good to know now though how to do future upgrade.

im pretty sure this update has somethimg to do with compatibility of the SMupdater.
