Root CM7 Activation help/hacking?

Hello,
Now before you flaim me and say it ain't so, I was wondering about using the activate .apk from a current virgin mobile gingerbread device, like the LG optimus slider... Is this a viable option/hope? It would be great if we could activate right from Cyanogen Mod 7. Thanks!

PS- I'm really asking those who dev'ed for this phone, but general knowlegde is most welcome, I want to learn! :)
 
I don't believe that would work, but I haven't tried it. You should only have to activate it once, so doing it from stock before you flash is pretty easy and you don't have to worry about it again.

Oh I've already activated it on stock... I don't really care.. but, it would be nice if you have service issues to be able to just call and not have to worry about reflashing stock (ugh, the horror). :rolleyes:
 
Probably won't work, because certain things are coded into the framework(regardless of the OS version) source code for the activate app to work. Or at least this is what I understand it to be. So we would need to know the things virgin mobile added to the framework that the activate app uses in order to add it to the CM7 source. It might be easier to find the things we need from gingerbread virgin mobile framework, but we still kinda need the source in order to add it to the CM7 source. It's probably not going to happen though would be my guess!!
