4800mAh usb portable emergency battery Charger For Apple iPhone 4S | eBay

If i buy that 4800 MaH charger and leave it plugged in to my phone will this mean i can use say GPS for 10 hours? cause phone battery is 1300 or 1400 and last 3 hours and this battery is 4800 MaH and the phone battery holds 1400 MaH so technically it should last 3 times longer right since there is 3 times more MaH?

i sent them a email they said no it will last 3 hours even if i left the charger plugged in.. who is wrong?

This mobile charger should fully charge your phone about two times when the phone is in stand-by.
When your GPS app fully discharge the phone in three hours, so with the charger capacity your phone should last nine hours.

But this service people see a ploblem with their charger.
This charger will only "dribble" charge your phone, say, it'd need the double of time as the wall charger which came with the phone.
So with this power hungry GPS app the phone wouldn't properly charged. The battery would drain despite the charger is put on the phone.
The charger wouldn't be empty. but the battery would be empty.

I have a 4400mAh mobile charger which charge my phone as fast as the wall charger with came with phone.
My hiking GPS app needs about 20%/hour of the battery.
So I don't have any problems with a 10 hours trip because my phone is charging properly :)

I don't know if you'd reach your 10 hours with this 4400mAh charger.
But your prospects would be better :)

My mobile charger: JustMobile Gum Pro.

So then 1 of the representative of oz_deal who replied to me are wrong and im right...

i dont think ill be using the GPS 10 hours continuously that was just bit exaggerated but i would need it to last about 4 hours and still have enough battery to do other tasks. The charger says it outputs 5V.. isnt that the same as the wall chargers

Yes, 5V is the standard USB voltage.
All USB chargers have 5V.
For properly charging the charging current is important.

You'll need enough curent for you GPS app and for charging the phone's battery :)

Thanks for replying. i see how it works now :o

USB charging from PC is dribble charging.

See, with your PC USB charging you can simulate the situation with this eBay charger: Enough power but not enough current to prevent that the battery's level going down.

You can also simulate the situation with this JustMobile Gum Pro charger of mine:
Let run your GPS app and charge with the wall charger which came with phone.
When the battery's level goes up you are good and you'll have the same with the JustMobile.

You should simulate this at first over that period of time which you want/need :)

EDIT: Well, when you would good with your simulation then you would want to purchase a mobile charger.

JustMobile Gum Pro would be the sure thing because you would need only a standard USB cable to properly charge your phone.

But maybe you want a bigger battery as this 4400 mAh capacity in your new charger ;)
Most mobile charger come with special cable with a adapter. With this adapter they are able to charge a HTC phone properly too.
But which of those can do this you'll only know when you try it.

As I saw, this charger on eBay come without cable and adapter. So it is a dibble charger for sure ;)
