i decided to dig around in a decompiled framework-res.apk and i found a bunch of xml code directing to sprint. is samsung just lazy or is something going on with sprint & metro-pcs.

i found sprint apns and eri. i even found carrier text for sprint. ( where is says metropcs on lockscreen & pulldown ) no other carriers r mentoined

No sprint is metropcs's roaming carrier when you drop out of a metro coverage area and go to roaming you go into a sprint coverage area metro and sprint have a roaming agreement

like metro relies on the sprint coverage for there roaming service if you go into a roaming area you go onto sprints network and they have an agreement with sprint for data calls and texts but you know it would seem since metro has 4g they would have gone with WIMAX 4g (sprints 4g ) instead of LTE (verizons) since their roaming coverage is with sprint

Im glad they didn't go with wimax, its not true 4g and has terrible building penetration, plus wimax expansion is dead :phewwww:

I did not this but fyi: when working on the epic I didn't fine no verizon info and sprint has a total agreement with sprint.

Also I found some wimax xml code in the framework

Well neither is LTE none of the us carriers have true 4g because true 4g is defined as 100 mbps down minimum and 50 mbps up as defined by the international counsil of cell phones lol they are the gods of phones and they define oir 4g as enhanced 3g

Everyone says that but that term is peak speeds and is for high mobility communication between vehicles such as trains and cars. ;)

Hey. I'm noticing that I'm roaming to Sprint like a mother****er, and I'm able to use all the other features of my phone, except that I can't RECEIVE text messages, not even from myself. Is this because I'm roaming on Sprint, or what?
I'm running 2Gig's OC'd Android World Order (the first version, ext and OC'd), and I just updated, via QPST, the PRL.
HALP!
