Help Problem to connect with Kies

khaosgott

Newbie
hello good people!

i have a problem to connect my GSII to Kies. Im trying to update the phone with the available firmware upgrade (fails to do so OTA).

Android ver 2.3.3, kernel version WKDD, build JHKG2.
im using a stock Orange firmware, though rooted.

I've tried different Kies versions on 2 different PC's, and in both cases, the software is just stuck on connecting (both PC's are Win7 64-bit)

What am I doing next?

thanks

Try connecting it to a Windows XP PC. That should work. I had also tried updating the firmware on a Windows 7 64 bit PC but was unsuccessful. Tried it on XP and it worked.

Try uninstalling (fully) and reinstalling Kies. instructions
And while your at it, before reinstalling, make sure your on the latest version, 2.1.0.11112_41_7 dated 2nd Dec

thanks for the tip.
reinstalled the Kies after full uninstall / reboot / CCleaner scan.
installed the version you adviced, still stuck on connecting....

i think i'd rather use Odin for firmware update, how can I check what is the updated version my carrier provides?

thank you for your time!

I too face same problems. No way the MTP android will get connected. on device manager it shows yellow ?. tried all what was mentioned in different forums.

I hope I will not have to change the mobile for this reason !

Win XP SP2 - 32 bit. Downloaded the driver and also tried

GT I 9100
ANDROID 2.3.3
BASEBAND U9100XXKE4
KERNEL 2.6.35.7- I9100.............

software is update. The SII connects on USB mode normally when selected

See the attachment for the error
