Help Verizon blocking visual voicemail with your number with google voice?

They don't block it...i used to use it before switching to YouMail.

If that changed, just use youmail.

Google Voice visual voicemail works. It will error out a few times but keep trying. Eventually it will look like it is persistently loading, then just back out and it should change the voicemail setting to Google Voice.

I use youmail and it works great.

This is correct. I got the carrier error message, as well, but just keep at it it works fine now.

You can use Google voice as your voicemail provider no problem. It's just telling you it can't automatically set this up for you.

You have to dial the following instructions via the keypad to route your # to Google Voice instead.

I did these years ago, and haven't had to redo it BTW

I set up Google Voice as my voice mail provider on my Droid X last night, and after the instructions on that 2009 forum dialog from the above link didn't fully work out for me, I opened the Google Voice website, where the instructions are more streamlined, and worked OK.

I get that too, but since everything is configured i still get my voicemails via GV in a text or via their app. its actually nice.

one thing you can double check is this
- Open up the Phone (as if you were going to make a phone call)
- Press the Menu button (3 dots on the right bottom corner)
- Select Settings

And make sure the following two options show Google Voice
"Voicemail Service" and "Voicemail Settings".

I have zero issues with mine
