Help Editing Contacts

Cassull

Lurker
I'm not sure if anyone's had an issue with this, but when I got my GN, I found that there were some repeat entries for contacts. I've tried deleting them, merging them, etc, and I've found that I cannot seem to edit my contacts list at all. Things like adding or editing a phone for an existing contact seem to not be present at all. Has anyone come across this or am I simply not seeing the option?

Duplicates huh?

Depends on the sync on the phone. Are you just syncing you normal google contacts (coming from another android phone), or are you using an app to sync additional contacts?

I found that my normal google sync works perfectly for contacts. I even run a sync tool from my work outlook 2000.

yea it was confusing to figure out but it involves lots of holding the contact name down, and pressing the 3 vertical dots symbol in the upper right corner when available. sorry i don't remember the exact sequence. but i'm finding android definitely has a learning curve unlike webos, blackberry or feature phones where everything seems very intuitive and easy.

I guess you're not seeing it.
Go into the people app, tap a contact name, tap the 3 vertical buttons in the upper right hand corner, edit.

For removing duplicates I used to use contact remover. I don't know if it works with ICS.

regardless, there's no bookface integration, hence why I asked the OP, we need more information.. ie an app that needs updating in the marketplace, etc.

If it's stock from another phone, sir, we have a problem with google sync.

If it's an app, sir, we have a problem with that app.

Ah, so you have to go into the actual People app... I usually go directly to the Phone, then go to contacts from there. I hadn't realized they weren't integrated before since I was coming from a Droid X. Thanks a lot for the help!

Contact remover works with ICS. I used it last night to get rid of some duplicate contacts on my GN.
