Help Samsung Galaxy Precedent

Hi i'm getting the Samsung Galaxy Precedent i was wondering because it had Android 2.2 is there anyway i could get Android 3.X on it?

Android 3.x is Honeycomb and only is available on tablets. The next for phones is 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). There may be a custom rom with ICS eventually available of the precendent, but officially i don't think there's been a decision yet.

So may there be a way to get 4.0 on it then? like possibly not saying there will? or can i even update to 2.3 from 2.2?

The processor, RAM, internal memory etc. on the Precedent is reliable, but it doesn't have the power to support ICS at all. The Prevail on Boost Mobile is almost identical to the Precedent. B.M. has sent out some 2.3 updates to some of their Boost Mobilers, and, the last time I heard, the Precedent was having some issues with the upgrade. That's why I kinda doubt we'll get the update for Gingerbread or ICS. You can always root it. I don't root since, on S.T. phone boxes, it says how rooting their phones breaks their policy, the law, etc. It puts me on a guilt trip. LOL
