Root freezing help

I was having a ton of freezing up issues on my OV (CM7). I found that if I moved all of the running apps to the phone from the SD card all the freezing up went away. Hope that helps somebody else.

It could be an SD card problem. Are you running a name brand? Or a cheapo from scambay? Or possibly a class 2?

Not all SD cards are made equally. A good quality card will allow for much faster data transfer rates, and therefore smoother running apps. Think of a PC with an older hard drive. As the drive ages, the motor that turns the platters starts to slow down, leading to longer load times. This is the exact same principal, only with solid state.

Decent brand, decent class. You could test it to verify, though. I found this to be rather useful.

When I was freezing, someone from these forums directed me to menu/settings/wireless & networks/wi-fi settings THEN HIT MENU and check out the sleep policy. For some reason, my phone came with "whenever the screen turns off" setting. I changed it to "never" and the freezing problem went away for good.
