voice navigation in india

Newbie
no voice navigation in india is a big drawback of maps, even few cheap n not so advanced nokia phones have this feature, any idea when can v get voice navigation in india :confused:


p.s. ny other app providing voice navigation in india? links welcomed :)

There are many like navigon, ndrive, sygic etc with India maps. Even there is a workaround to make google maps works with navigation in India.
I am new to this forum, registered just now. Dont know about the forum rules. Some forums dont allow to post friendly (cracked) apps. Some forums wont allow to post apps of certain developers like tomtom, gameloft, ea etc. If we can post links here in this forum I will upload or give direct links to all navigation apps here.

Here is the way to use google maps with voice navigation.
1)Rooted phone is needed.
2) Backup maps using titanium backup.
3) Install root uninstaller.
4)wipe data and uninstall maps
5)wipe data and uninstall street view
6)Download and Install google maps 5.7 resigned version from this link MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service (ONLY)If that file gives error try this MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service
7)After installing maps Go to market, and reinstall street view.
8)Njoy Navigation :-)

Same problem with my s2, sygic worked for 7 days and got expired... is there any free software like ovi maps in nokia with works well with voice.

And one more thing is in Google maps, it shows the route but it won't reduce the distance even after travelling.

Please help me

it sucks that google navigation is not available in india. google plz wake up before people start going back to nokia.

there is one app called freenav on market that works decently in india.

I also tried the hacked version of google maps but found lots of problems with it. cannot upgrade maps and I was not able to restore it from backups.
 
you can also check Free GPS Navigation with Turn by Turn - Waze
or download from Android Market....

if map is missing in your area.. you can Map the roads... or roads will be mapped automatically as you drive the road with application on...

Waze already have maps loaded for big cities and some small cities in INDIA....

It also gives you live traffic Updates...

GIve it a try...

I was checking for a voice navigation app for today as had goto a new place Noida Today. I read your comment and downloaded this app. Honestly I was amazed to see the clarity, 3d MAp , real time sync, KM was auto calculated and was matching with my car taco-meter and the app was automatically updating the stopped due to red light and traffic jams for other users benefit roaming next to me.

1. Waze one of my fav app... it gives live traffic updates too...but it needs you to be online...

2. If you are looking for Offline Navigation OSMAND is what I will suggest you.

Normally weekly Map updates from Open Street Maps which allows you to modify missing maps...

I prefer Waze while driving within city and OSMAND while driing between cities as low network area....
