Google Earth Is In The Market

It looks freaking sweet. Apparently only 2.1 users are seeing this but I'm running DroidMod ROM v1.0 and I can see and download it.

I think it is 2.0 and higher so not just limited to Droid forum I think....

But it sure is a beautiful app!

And very impressive too if rather memory intensive. Installed file is over 22gb on the phone and 200+ for data on the SD!!

Just D/L'ed it!!! SWEEEEEEEEEEET :D

maybe not so sweet.... it's a HOG.... the location doesn't even work as well as google maps... i kinda fail to see the usefulness of Earth when Maps does most of the same thing...

Location is working fine on mine, it runs quite smooth and I'm loving the look-around function. Detail is a lot better than Google Maps and the terrain is in 3d rather than just colouring.

I got this on my nexus but when I try to open it it says cant write to data directory, maybe run out of disc space. I have 46 mgbts of free space so I dint understand. any ideas?

Google Earth is only available for Android 2.1. So either you have a Nexus One or a rotted Droid running 2.1. Otherwise it will not show up in your market. This app takes up about 23mb of space on your phone, so it is a LARGE app. I have it and it is nice, but I might not be keeping it on my phone.

I'm running firmware 2.0.1 with BB1.0 rom and it shows in the market for me.

Update: it works on my Droid with pinch to zoom, etc. Pretty nice!

Very impressive on my Droid but taking way too much valuable real estate. When are those 32gb sd cards coming out???

Having played a bit more with it tonight it appears to still be a bit buggy, find it freezes or is unsure as what to do if zooming around in look-around mode and it hits 'land' highr than the height your at but overall I'm very impressed of what it does on a phone, hopefully user layers will be added for things like ski runs etc.
