with the sholes site being down...anywhere know where i can find the custom recovery 0.99.2b ?? i found it on here somewhere last night but cant seem to locate it tonite...

i need that recovery file to use the smoked glass. im not experienced enough to mix and match stuff like that...any ideas where else i could get it from?

i could be ******ed, but when i click download it says mounting failed on my computer and won't finish the download. Anyone know whats up? I'm on a mac if it makes a difference.

man my english sucks lol

nah, I just wanted to make sure people knew what you meant to say. Since it is a split of the Sholes team, formally could give the wrong impression....

Shouldn't - the .ZIP and .RAR files are standard archives, and all of them are at MediaFire, so it should open a mediafire window and allow you to DL it from there.

Yea the mediafire opens up, i click the download, and it begins to download. Right as it is finishing it says mounting failed and I can't do anything with the download. I'm trying to do my first root and want to install BB rom but I don't want to do anything if I can't make a backup.

if you go to the droidmod website] on your phone and dl the updater and install it all from your phone u can bypass your computer. IMO its alot easier

mounting failed - weird.

Perhaps it is some sort of software that is trying to automatically extract the .ZIP / .RAR and then mount the .img file located inside, and that is what is causing the issue....

Man, there is just a lot of stuff to wrap your mind around. If I download and install DMUpdater straight from the Droidmod website onto my phone do I just go through the steps of rooting and creating a nandroid like normal (like shown here:http://androidforums.com/how-tips/43108-video-guide-rooting-your-droid-easy-peasy.html)? Thanks a lot for all the help already, been trying to read up as much as possible so I don't ask questions that have been answered a million times. Just seems like once I make a breakthrough I get lost all over again.

to get just the SPrecovery on just run DMupdater, it will update your recovery automatically, when flashing a new rom its always good to do a nandroid backup which is just boot into recovery, go to backup and do simple backup. to flash a rom either dl an update.zip, nandroid folder, or use the DMupdater which will auto go through all the steps automatically to install the droidmod rom. I personally use the BB update.zip since there is no need to wipe data then (unless coming from a 2.1 rom)
