Help "profile" picture problem

ok so, the picture i am talking about is the one on my GOOGLE account profile. See when i txt someone it shows that picture. So, now when i text someone it doesnt show any picture at all. it just... went away. The Google/+ account still has that picture but for some reason my Gnex isnt using it as my profile picture. its a small thing but i dont like looking at some ugly generic grey smiley person when i am texting... anyone know whats going on?
 
I just created myself as a contact in my address book, slapped a picture on there and now I get to look at my pretty little face with every message! Not sure about G+ sync, etc.

Go to People app> Me (should be there that is you :p)> 3 dot menu top right corner > edit > you'll probably have 2 profiles here local and google+ > click the little thumbnail pic under local profile > take pic or choose from gallery.

You might have to create the contact (you) first I can't remember. Mine was just there, but I might have done that years ago...
