HTC Desire on Verizon Wireless? Yes or No

Fact is, there are probably more kids that can get their parents to drop $150 + a data plan for them every month.

that is so true i see kids walking around with a blackberry or other phone because they think it is cool but dont know how to use them.

It's good news that they are crossing the pond. If Sprint gets the legend then all you would have to do is buy one and have it programed to run on Verizon. I'm sure there are plenty of mom and pop wireless shops that can do this for a small fee

I wouldn't be so sure. Reprogramming the electronics of these things to processes a different spectrum of frequencies is probably nasty business and I wouldn't be surprised if some of it was hard coded into the circuit design. I think it would be over most cell technicians heads nevermind your neighborhood electronics shop, if those even exist anymore.

I'm thinking that VZW will get the "Desire" but it will look different, much like how the Hero and Eris look very different. Same internals, but different body. I would love to see the aluminum unibody of the Legend on the Desire for VZW.

From what I can work out, VZW may be holding back on the number of 3g-enabled phones they have to reduce the strain on their network.
