Force 4G

I'm about to make the switch today but only if I'm able to force 4G on the Rezound. I can't do this on the Nexus and I work in not a great 4G area so my phone always reverts back to 3G so unless I can force 4G I'm stuck not watching my Slingbox. Is there a way to force 4G on the Rezound?
 
What do you mean by 'Force' 4g??? You are either in a good 4g area or you or not????? Not sure I understand...
 
There are apps like "phone info" that give you an option to set it to 4g only. If you're in a cruddy 4g area, better spring for the extended battery.
 
I'm getting 4G in areas that the Thunderbolt I owned had problems pulling in a 4G signal. Based on the reports I've seen, going to the Rezound will be an upgrade in signal strength, as long as you were able to pull in some sort of 4G signal before on the Nexus.
 
by "force 4g" im guessing you want to only have the lte radio on not the cdma/lte radio that is accessed. The answer is no. there is no switch that i know of that is built in to the phones UI. Im sure that there may be an app for it or some for of root but not fresh out of the box can you force 4g. and it does depend on where your location is and if you get a strong signal or not. Its going to be a battery vacuum either way but the stronger the signal, the better chance of it using 4g more predominantly anyway. Im in Wilmington DE and the signal is very strong so i use the 4g often. If any of this helps...

I work at the Dupont across the River in NJ. I get a signal in Wilmington but as soon as I get into the plant I slowly lose the 4G signal. With the Bolt if I turned on LTE only my phone would keep the signal but if it was on #3G/4G I would lose the 4G signal and go back to 3G. Slingbox looks great in 4G (no matter how low the signal) but constantly stutters in 3G. When I got the Nexus into the plant I had 4G but slowly lost it and can't force it like I did my Bolt so I'm stuck with 3G. I wish I could force 4G with the Nexus radio but I cant. I love the Nexus but this is a deal breaker for me.
 
^automatic... already enabled... it's part of the processor/chipset feature in the Rezound... :) (i tried it before... talk and surf...)
 
note that voice and data at the same time will only work when you're locked on to 4G.

voice goes over 3G
data goes over 4G
 
^that's not exactly correct :) It actually depends on the phone in use.
I just set the Rezound to 3G, called somebody (voice) and surf the internet (data) on the phone at the same time.
Voice goes on the voice-band or whatever we call it :) Even when we have the Mobile Network (data) switched off, the voice calls will go out and calls will come in too... :)
