Battery life on your thunderbolt

I'm looking to get a thunderbolt tmrw. How has battery life been for you guys. On the stock battery. I am planning on rooting the phone as well. Thanks.

Im rooted and use the stock battery, with 4G on I can usually get between 9 hours with medium usage. 4G off like 12. And screen is always on 100%

No problem. Even if you dont wanna use that ROM I would definitely use the Revolutionary Tool to root. Its the fastest and easiest way. You will be rooted in about 10 minutes. Good luck

Yeah its decent. Im averaging about 9 hours on 4G with it. So its not horrible. Im always near a charger if need be tho so I dont really worry about it.

Yea that's all I really need 8-9 hours straight. Don't really need to go days. Thanks tho. I'm just getting tired of the iPhone n it's closed off software. Jail breaking is ok but it still has the same bs with it. Thanks again tho.

If you're coming from the iPhone 4, you'll be very disappointed with the battery life.
When on the stock battery and running SkyRaider Zeus. I can make it through a 10 hour work day no problem. 1 hour screen time and 4G use with no updates being pushed. Usually at around 70% to 75% when I leave.
When I use the phone heavily, I get about 4 1/2 hours with 4G on.
If you don't mind the extra bump, get the extended battery. I love my extended battery.

I've yet to try the Rezound battery, as I already use the extended, but people are reporting decent improvements with it. Plus it's only like $20.

Btw iOS 5 blows on battery life only got 6 hours of mod. Usage. So I won't be mad when I switch later on today for the tb.

I definitely think it would be nice to have the extra juice of the extended 2750 battery but I just couldnt deal with adding that much heft to an already hefty phone. That said I did buy the Seidio slim extended battery and really didnt see a huge jump from the factory so I use that as my back up. However if I didnt work in a place where I can always charge my phone I would probably get the 2750 battery. Guess it all just comes down to personal need and preference.

The Rezound battery is also a good option if you can still get it for $19.99 from Verizon. I wouldnt pay $30 for it tho

I get a few (3-4) more hours out of the rezound battery. If I'm not constantly on the phone, I get anywhere from 12-15 hours on the rezound battery. I keep the stock as a backup

running stock, with an extended battery with 4g and sync on I can go 2 days.

on stock battery I get 3/4 of a day

when at work I dont have sync, wifi, or gps on. I hardly use the gps except when I'm golfing. I don't have sync on because I have gmail on at work

As of right now on the stock battery I got 7 hrs 8 min and 10% left. Pandora streaming 3g for 5 hrs 42 min. Little web surfing and some checking in with my tiny tower game.

Not too bad I guess but I know my rezound battery would be better. Could probably got at least 9 hrs on it while doing the same (Pandora longer obviously)

Replaced my 2 year old HTC Incredible with a new Thunderbolt over the weekend, after I dropped the DINC perfectly onto the only sharp rock within 10 feet of my feet. So far so good. Did a battery burn down test at the office today - notified me to charge at 2:30 showing 17% remaining, had been on since 6:30, so 8 hours with 4G hotspot on all day for my Acer Iconia A500 tab, streaming iheartradio, also all day. This is with the extended battery. I discovered later that the GPS appeared to also have been on.

Happy with overall performance, nice platform, great specs.

Edited to add, I went through the battery life posts and think I have made some changes that should improve performance tomorrow.

I stopped using the stock battery because I was constantly managing the battery. I have the extended battery and now I no longer worry about the battery life. The extra size sucks but the extra battery life is worth it.

The one thing I've learned since buying my first smartphone back in 2005 is that there are people that are going to go out of their way to act as if they have the one phone that exceeds the battery life of everybody else.

The standard battery on the Thunderbolt will not get you through a full day unless you don't use the phone. Doesn't matter if you're rooted or not. Half a day of use and the battery will be dead, bottom line.

The extended battery is the only way you're going to be able to use your phone whenever you want without having to plug it in a couple times a day. Even with the extended battery, it's still possible to run out of juice if you spend hours and hours using the phone.

I just checked my battery and I'm at 50% after 6.5 hours off the charger. That's with the extended battery and what I would consider heavy web surfing and some moderate game playing.

stock battery, rooted and rommed. in a strong 4g area i can usually get 12 hours out of a sense ROM and about 9 hours out of an AOSP ROM.
