Help Lock screen apps/customization

I was under the impression that there was some sort of interaction we'd be able to do with the lock screen other than unlock and activate the camera. Is this the case or did I misread?

I already know about this, but that's not specific to ICS.

What I read in the changelog for ICS was "Ability to access apps directly from lock screen (similar to HTC Sense 3.x)"

What is that referring to?

you can swipe down on the lock screen to get the notification menu and touch to access apps (with active notifications, or that are active such as weather, music) from there. i think you have to enable it in settings if you want to do so. probably what they are talking about.
