Root MrRee???RoM -v.0.4- (Jan 12)

lovin your ROM man. very quick. when i pull up the carrier iq detector app it says "Your device does have Carrier IQ" though. did something go wrong?
 
Thank you for the update and the hard work involved but which one do i need? The 0.3 or the 0.3a? Which one will have me updated to the next level of pimpness from 0.2?
 
Hmm, it seems to have installed correctly but the phone keeps rebooting. Could it be that I installed from Starscrom?
 
Both the new links are the same... carriee IQ is still on the phone. A lot of it has been removed, BUT it is 100% disabled... both of the screen shots conferm that... if you would like to test check out vooodoo iq detector.

Ok, it has something to do with turning on bluetooth. Every time I turn it on the phone reboots. Then the phone automatically tries to turn bluetooth back on and reboots over and over again. I installed the stock google music app from Titanium Backup and that seems to have fixed the problem.

yeah probably.... did you do a factory reset?
it defanently should work comming from stock rom, so might have to restore back to stock before... factory reset should do the trick.

hmmm i havent had any truble with bluetooth yet or any problems restarting.... im glade you fixed it ... ill look into it:)

Yeah I'm having that problem now.... your fix worked for me too... I'm at work right now... will make an update tonight... going to cut the download link until update is availible.
 
Oh ok, I tried out that voodoo app and yes, it does say carrier IQ is not running, failed to start. Thanks a million smith058, and yes, battery life has greatly increased :)

I'm getting "Error while flashing boot image!" I tried downloading and extracting the file twice, but no dice.

Nevermind, my dumbass can't follow instructions. It works fine.
 
Yeah... will do... it will be a while... I'm not all that well organized... staying up late like a speed freak to make it work... I will do a better job on the change log for future updates... its been a fun game of trial and error, so my desktop is scattered with oddly named files and folders for each individual test... frome the theme to the rom v0.5 I've had to flash tests over 200 times...

Please bear with me on the previous verions regarding the change log...

Not to say anything out the way to either Intrdepth or Smith, you guys rock. But niether has perfected their ROM yet. This s#!t is a serious task beyond most of us and they are busting hump. I am looking forward to CM coming to this phone but am considering trying this ROM so I can see how he gets it done. Might put it on my daughters ultra.

A sticking point has been giving up EvDo only.

Heres the part I hope doesn't offend but until Smith works out a patched in solution to this you should be able lift the Starsettings apk from Star ScRom and copy it into the apps folder. Unless there's something I've missed or Something about this ROM. I unpacked Star ScRom on windows and dug around in it the day after I put it on my phone and Starsettings apk was in a seperate folder, out side the OS folders, with (I think SU apk) which suggests to me its portable.

I would like to see it as an independent release by Intrdpth. But will be trying it on my daughters phone which is rooted with the stock ROM. She has need of the tether ie. Starsettings.

Much love for any one working on this awesome lil device.
 
I backed up all my apps with titanium backup and after installing this rom I just copy my apps back over. so starsettings was there when I was done
 
i will not be putting starsettings into my rom... it is Intrdepth's and i dont want to steal his work... if he makes a seprate release then i would put it in... :)
