Help Downloaded Music

How come when I go to my SD card and find my songs, it's under "mp3download > songs" instead of being under "Music"? Will it mess up my songs if I transfer all of them to "Music"?

depending how you download or transfere your music will dtemin where the files are saved.

can you not change the default save loction in the downlaod program you are using.

it will not mess your music up transfering them, as the the stock player/power amp will search through all the folders any way.

when you have done it restart your phone and open your player and it should automatically scan your phone again

John,

I'm trying to solve a problem which is sort of the opposite the original poster has. I want the music player to look beyond /mnt/sdcard/Music but it seems to be the only place it's looking for. I wanted it to check Spotify's folder as well but after quite a few hours trying I'm about to give up. Any clues?

Thanks,
Luiz

i dont know tbh, just had a look at my stock music player, and it does look in other places for music, so i am not sure what to suggest really, also apparently if there is a period . infront of a folder name stock applications will disregard it.

can you not change the default save location of spotify to be the music folder.

found this in another post you could check your floder structure

if your tracks are in the right place then you could try clearing the data for the music player.

menu>settings>applications>manage applications>music>clear data, and then restart your phone ( long press power button )

and see if it rescans

John,

Thanks for your reply. At the moment I'd rather stick to the stock player so I can take advantage of the Beats plugin from HTC. I'm actually a bit disappointed you only get this feature with the stock player, but that's what it is.... :-(

Cheers,
Luiz

Ha! I read your post on email and never saw the edited version... I'll give your suggestions a try.

Thanks again,
Luiz

are you using the sd card you got with the phone, or one you bought.

i had a problem with my stock music player with an sd card i had bought online, HTC were actually kind enough to send me a new sd card out to try and see if i could fix the problem....and it did, straight away. ( and they did not ask for the card back either ....yay )
