Personally, the color of the backplate doesn't bother me much, though a redder red would be nice. The SHAPE of it though...ick. What I'd like to see, however, is a slick black backing, with a slight rubberized strip on the side for grip. I hate dropping my smartphone.

Even if it does come out in that shape/color combo, I am sure that someone will be quick to come up with an aftermarket replacement seeing all the disdain on sites such as this.

Something I've been thinking about recently.. Imagine the scale this is on. Thousands and thousands of phones to be manufactured and distributed across the country. Countries around the world involved.. Field testers.. vendors... Advertising campaigns. Hundreds of people involved. Numerous businesses... And all we have is a few minor leaks and rumored specs? And this is all we can find? I find this interesting & confusing.

Man!! They must have security in place that rivals the military!!!

I mean GEES! This is NOT a new super weapon! It's a phone!!!

Now everything is going dark? AND WE ARE FINDING LESS?

Has this been some kind of slight of hand campaign to throw us off the REAL track? lol!! Who really knows.. .

I for one am excited about the next generation of phones coming out.. and I am anxiously waiting on the incredible. Or whatever it is thats coming! :D

I can't wait to see what our sleuths discover today... :p

Years ago I worked for a chemical company that provided circuit boards for Motorola. I had to visit a facility where Motorola assembled chips, capacitors, etc on those circuit boards for handheld devices (cell phones, walkie talkies, etc) in order to update some workstations in preparation for Y2K. I can tell you the security there was probably better than any prison. Not only were all bags subject to search, they were all searched. Most women didn't bother carrying a purse. No phones, pagers (remember it was 1999), or other electronics were allowed. In addition, not being an employee, I had someone with me and looking over my shoulder the entire time. It was really quite intimidating. So while it sounds extreme, I feel confident in saying that the security is probably really that good. And the employees likely all know they would be terminated on the spot if they violated any of the policies, no questions asked.

One thing that's really exciting is that all of the great detective work has brought internet-wide attention to this thread. We all sit on here and say things like "the back sucks" or "256 MB of RAM, seriously" and assume that no one from HTC or VZ ever sees it. Well, its highly possible now that the initial toughts/complaints about the phone have been seen and communicated. We're probably the largest focus group that HTC has had for this phone...and even better is that we are the people who will actually buy it. So just maybe they've taken some of our "suggestions" into consideration and are making some tweaks before release.

I'm sure it's too late for Legend-esque unibody construction. Shame. Anyhow, Perhaps if they can change it up a tad to be a bit for Desire-ish. That would be hot.

Then again, we haven't seen the final product. Perhaps it's already kick ass???

I was out last night with a friend who works for Verizon Wireless Corporate (Marketing), while he refuses to tell me anything about the Incredible (he could get in trouble), another friend had an iPhone with an extended battery that was red. It totally made me think of the Incredible and I must say, it didn't look bad at all. Kinda sexy.

Hey guys (girls), I just joined the forum. I have been reading all the rumors and speculation extensively, here and over the web. Wow, everyone really gets into this and finds out some interesting stuff. I am on VZW and ready to upgrade. I really hope the back isn't orange and the earpiece red.

IMHO, the phone looks closer to the supersonic than the original video that herb posted of the incredile with the VZW splash screen. The red earpiece was on some pictures of the supersonic and the phone screen looks huge. Bigger than 3.7.

However, isn't it possible they could have made changes since the last video or if it is the Supersonic, they could have added an optical track pad to it. Just a thought.

Does anyone think they will keep the orange/red colors on the Incredible? Doesn't that seem a little strange compared to most HTC phones. They are usually sleek and sexy with neutral colors. The orangish back wasn't even Verizon's color red!

I think the phone will upgraded memory wise. I don't think that would be hard to do either. 256 seems low. With new devices coming out now with twice that, why would HTC stay behind? I guess we will see, either way I am excited. If I find any more news I will post!

It's not the Supersonic, and it's already been identified as the same phone with the VZ splash screen here. And judging by the way it fits in her hand, I would say it is about 3.7. Plus, the buttons and spacing are noticeably different than the Supersonic.

It's the Incredible.

Where does that mention the PB99300? That link points to the documents for QDJ-F902 for me. But a PB99300 with CDMA2000 sure would make me this that's VZW's version of the Nexus One. Hopefully more good news and info keeps coming!

Yeah, that is pretty darn close. What's with the red?! I'm just not a huge fan of it. I hope it stays all black..

Try this link:

Maybe N1 for VZW?

Also, in the report the EUT tested is a "Production Unit." Whatever this is, it looks ready to go.

Once again, great find wonderbread!

Thanks, I checked out the PB99300 filing and I only saw CDMA2000...shame, I was seriously hoping for a world nexus one. How sick would it be if they had a gsm/cdma chip in that thing

+1

It looks like neither N1 or Incredible will be world phones. That's too bad- these things would be killer if we could roam worldwide.

I guess I'll have to keep the Storm 1 on hand for travel outside the US.

If they haven't added the ram as of a few months ago they're not going to. At least they're not going to without severely affecting the release date because any hardware changes would need to undergo testing.

Thanks for the correction, yeah, I posted the wrong link somehow. Fixed it in my original post.

I think this may factor into at least Verizon's plan of action in announcing the Incredible. The short term confidentiality on pics and user manual for the VZW N1 is April 30th. It will be interesting to see how VZW goes about announcing the N1 and Incredible and how much control they have over delaying the N1 launch until after the Incredible.

How long was it from when the Nexus One went through FCC until it went on sale? Thanks.

Three weeks, I think?

Here's a side-by-side-by-side comparison of the T-Mobile, AT&T (assumed), and Verizon (assumed) Nexus One phone labels from FCC documents.

While I'm still going to purchase the phone, there is nothing really "incredible" to me about a 3.7" display.

My heart still wants two phones to be released. A cdma N1 and a verizon supersonic variant called "incredible".
