Eris to v2.x, when?

*off topic*

Oh, no. No problem with you. It's the others and the lame comments they make towards you because you are female. For all we know, you are a 400lb woman with a beard who never gets up from your chair all day, nor showers/bathes more than once a week (not saying you are). But in their simple little testosterone driven minds, you are an airbrushed supermodel (again, not saying you are).

Ahhh, I understand now. I just see it as everyone clowning around personally. I think most everyone responds to my avatar more than anything else.

Just for the record though, I am neither a "400lb woman with a beard who never gets up from (my) chair all day, nor showers/bathes more than once a week" or an "airbrushed supermodel"......in case you were wondering. ;)

Nothing wrong with people having hormones or fantasies ... we're human, after all.

I'll confess, though, that the way geeks channel their hormones has always been fascinating to me. :)

No kidding! As I said earlier I am coming from years of upgrading the ROM in a windows phone every couple of days because someone came out with a new one. I was running Windows Mobile 6.5.3 on an Omnia, which was a 6.1 device. My reason for moving to the Eris was that my wife had one, and all the things I could make work on the Omnia with some hacking simply just worked on the droid platform. But as brilliant as those guys hacking the omnia were, they were not nearly as fun as Eris users appear to be! It was so serious over there in the dark land. Here people seem to enjoy themselves.

Someone said earlier that perhaps there was more to life than hanging out here and speculating, but I have found this my favorite thread simply because it's FUNNY! I find myself coming back to check it just to get a laugh.

I wasn't being sarcastic. I find myself checking this thread for S&G as well. Yes, most other forums take themselves way too seriously.

Funny. I picture her as a gothic midget, but no matter what everyone thinks she looks like, I'm willing to bet nobody could talk her into posting a real pic. I think someone tried and failed...(jk about the midget comment... actually never gave it much thought)

This is the most accurate statement in this whole thread. :D

I've made that mistake and I had a guy show up on my doorstep. Not fun, not doing it again.

Yes, I am excited for the update when it comes. While I wait, I will enjoy life with my wife doing the P90X program, playing with my kids, working long hours, and serving in my Church. :)

On Eris running Flash 10.1 (Sorry if it has already been discussed) If the Hero is basically an Eris then this from Gizmodo is not too exciting:

Possibly true, but WAY too early to consider fact or to get too upset about.

I can assure you the term "Upset" has not entered my Lexicon for this thread, but if the Adobe statement is correct, that only Phones meeting the ARM V7 will be equipped, then the following from A&Me would stand to reason:

The only U.S. Android phones on the market that meet this requirement are the Motorola Droid and HTC Nexus One. Almost everything else is ARMv6 (ARM11) and will not support Flash 10.1.
U.S. Android phones that will not support Flash 10.1:

  • Sprint Hero
  • Sprint Moment
  • T-Mobile G1
  • T-Mobile myTouch 3G
  • T-Mobile CLIQ
  • T-Mobile Behold II
  • Verizon Droid Eris
  • Verizon Devour

I can almost guarantee anything before ARMv7 will not be running flash. If animated wallpapers were removed from the Eris, I seriously doubt they would provide flash (not that it couldn't be hacked, but that's a different story). I don't have solid proof to back this, but from knowing the processing power difference between the ARMv6 and ARMv7 family it will be extremely unlikely.

About 2.1, I'm as impatient as the next person (probably more so), but things like this make me realize thorough testing is a good thing :)
