Eris to v2.x, when?

I got my 2.1 update from vzw on sunday. Looks like they added a process that taskiller will not kill but the web and weather do run alot faster. I dont know if i like the new layout of the market.

Hey, I'm new here, so hi everyone!

I updated my gf's Eris to 2.1, and it was either the first or second leak, definitely not the third. I know it won't come OTA, but is there any way to get the official 2.1 or the third leak?

There seems to be some clashing opinion about the v3 leak not being able to detect the OTA update. Some people are saying that they've gotten the OTA with the leak installed, and others are saying that it's impossible for the phone to detect software updates that are already installed on the phone.


Anybody up for the challenge of answering the question? I just want to be able to buy applications off the market and have them work properly. The v3 is nice but there's still a few glitches....
