Verizon location agent

After the ota I decided to see if my battery usage changed and I saw this

Does anyone know what this is? I won't want to this crap taking up 10% of my battery!

You've got a Verizon app running. Figure out which one it is and shut it off. If it's one you use, then it'll run like that regardless.

I was wondering the same. Hadn't seen that one before, but it only ran in the first hour or so after the OTA

Force closing it immediately booted it back up before I even pressed the back button. The name of it sounds so spywarish, location agent -_-

Mine was 2% and then i hit "Force close" on it.
It came back again at 2% like some kind of reduced fat milk :D

There is an app AND a service. It says the service was started by the app. I stopped the app and the service stopped, and it did not restart.

Does anyone know what's going on with this verizon piece of crapware? Was it installed in the OTA? Seems to want to run continuously, not allowing the phone to sleep. I don't remember seeing this app before the update.

This is exactly the type of intrusive, unwanted junk installed by verizon that made me switch away from andoid last time.

Check your "apps running" from time to time when you start up an app.

I noticed a major change in my battery life back in december and found that Enhanced Email app was kicking off ALL of my other installed apps in the background, running my phone down within minutes.

They werent aware initially but eventually released an updated version that corrected this. Check out Enhanced Email update notes in the market for more details.

It may be unlikely, but you never know what other apps may have a conflict in code or something that would do this as well.

Battery life was excellent for me before this bogus update.

I am a little peeved also. I use an extended battery. I pulled it off of charger last night and went to bed to check this out. I woke up to 64% battery left in 12 hrs. Did not use it once.
My wifes has gone down to 73% only checking facebook for 5 minutes since pulled off charger 10 am. We may need to have a talk with verizon. What really pisses me off is this was not added in the notes to us.

Sounds like the updated system is now running other things in the bckground for sure., eating up battey resource. Not good

I looked at my awake time last night. It was 100%. Never had this before. I have not installed any apps since the update. Under what was using the battery, I noticed this junk. Didn't appear to be there before the OTA.

When I looked and saw this Verizon app, it was causing the awake time. Closed the app, running process stopped. It came back. Powered off, I did a battery pull last night.

Powered up, noted awake time. Went to bed. Checked phone this morning, saw the awake time was almost 100%.

Restarted this morning. Awake time seems to be going back down. Will check back later with results.

Dumb-@$$ verizon and the way they insist on putting the crap on our phones.

Why is apple able to get away with restricting access to this junk and android is like an open toilet, here ya go, take a poop.

On both Rezound phones... i looked and the secret agents are gone!!
Probably didn't find anything exciting here and left.
I even rebooted it to see if they'll pop out from behind the billboard :D

I got the update yesterday, I just checked my battery usage and do not see Verizon location agent anywhere (Shrugs).

Look in running applications in settings. It will even show how long its been running. I have 3 rezounds all showing it running. If its not running on anyones here after the update reboot and check your running apps again. It is there unless your rooted and froze it.
