Done with the bionic

Bionic2

Newbie
The manager at my local store was gracious enough to swap my bionic for a rezound. I hope I have better luck! First impression is I love it! Bionic with the extended battery was much smaller. I also wish it had hdmi but not a big deal for me.

I do have to say that I updated to the .901 a couple of days ago and the bionic was much better. Hopefully moto will get their act together and fix this phone!

Never name your screenname after a phone. It's a jinx. :p. Just kidding. Good luck with the rezound.

I know! I waited 9 months for the bionic. I thought it was going to make all of my wildest dreams come true! Therefore I picked an awesome user name. Too bad my experience was more like a nightmare!

I for the life of me cant figure out why people are 4,5,6 or even more returns into the bionic. I experienced the very same issues that so many are talking about on here and another friend of mine had one and it acted exactly the same as mine. I contacted customer support and 2 conversations later with little to no resistance from verizon and not one single bionic swap they offered me any new comparable phone they had and they acknowledged to me that their was indeed a problem with the bionic itself and that they were "working" with motorola on a software fix with no timetable. I chose HTC Rezound. I was worried about the battery on the rezound but was pleasantly suprised when I got better life out of it then with my bionic. Its funny how when a phone doesnt have to constantly search for a good signal it gets better battery life. I like HTC's stance with regards to open development as well. If motorola would have opened the bionic up im sure the community would have already fixed the damn signal problem themselves. Bye Bye Moto.
BTW I check this forum very often and learned everything I know about rooting phones so thank you all very much for that. I just couldnt hold my tongue anymore about moto and this phone. Do any of you think original droid would have been even half as popular if the bootloader wasnt open??? I don't

We're you still within the 15 day return period? If so that may be why. I called tech support shortly after getting mine and noticing problems. I was told to wait for the software update. Verizon's warranty policy is to give you a refurbished phone. I personally think that it's easier for them to keep sending refurb phones to people than to admit there is a real problem. I had hell getting a new phone. Tech support was useless. Luckily my local store has good management that still believes in customer service!

So far I LOVE the rezound. I have noticed a few quirks but nothing too bad. Best part, the awesome camera and not 1 data drop yet!

You should have gotten a Droid Razr, then your screen name would still make sense!

I have had the bionic since day 1 of its release. There is no sense sending a refurbished phone when it will have the same software issue that they are still trying to resolve. I thought it was the towers at first but after having the rezound now and using it in the exact same area that the bionic was constantly dropping in im sold on it being a bionic issue not a tower issue. I never stepped foot in the store. 1 call to voice my concerns and they opened a complaint and told me that a network technician would call me within 48-72 hours. He called 2 days later and told me the problem was the bionic and if I couldnt wait for the update he would recommend me a different brand phone. Guess I got lucky :)
