News that the Nexus One is coming to Vodaphone in April........could that possibly mean that the Nexus One for Verizon Wireless is also coming in April?? possibly

I still think it's coming end of March. The Incredible is due in April. I heard this around Christmas time from a supposed Verizon employee who heard it from the HTC rep. It was then posted on here again recently, same situation, that it was supposed to be March and was delayed to April. I think CTIA will be the point of announcing the availability of the Nexus One, much like CES was used as the launch of the T-Mobile version.

I am 99 percent sure that what you are seeing is the charging LED. In the other leaked photo, this LED lines up exactly with that spot. Also it was not visible until light hit that led at the end. The image comparison Wonderbread shows this perfectly.

One thing I'm curious about that other have commented on is the red mesh earpiece. Its obviously isn't red in every picture. Is it possibile the red mesh is caused by a light either under the earpiece or near it?

Anyone got an opinion (Here? On THIS forum? ) about vanilla Android vs. HTC's proprietary overlay?

I'd take Sense UI over stock Android any day! It's gorgeous and I just have to have it on my next phone. The more videos I've seen, especially the latest ones of the Desire, make me want a phone with Sense even more. I know a lot of people have different opinions on this, but my personal opinion is that Sense UI > Stock Android.

I would go out on a limb and say 99% of the people on this thread are waiting for HTC Sense over stock Android, otherwise we'd be on the N1 Forum I'd say it's just a personal choice between stock Android (potentially quicker updates) or Sense (just plain BETTER)




And I think your buddy at work with the Droid is ripping on Sense because he doesn't have it The 4 hour claim is BS. I had an Eris, did fine on battery life.

well im new here and my wife and I are switching to android devices, but i think i might wait til the incredible comes out. I wish i knew when that is bc i just sold both of our iphones on ebay for 1200$ lol and now im back on the 1st gen iphone which is crap and she has no phone. lol so what do i do? what are the chances of the incredible coming out this tuesday? march 2nd?

I agree with both Nashdroid and MTechie, Sense is a huge part of my reasons for wanting this phone. I had an Eris for a while and it is great even running on old Android 1.5.

there is a little bit of duscussion on this thread about sense vs oem. I believe also as long as you don't mind waiting a little extra time for updates that sense is much better

If you're really worried about sucking down a battery, you have one of two choices. Seidio makes a denser battery that packs a couple hundred extra mAh in the same space such that you can swap your stock battery without having to change the back case. Or Seidio makes a high capacity battery, nearly double the mAh, with a back plate that compensates for the extra thickness of the battery.

I didn't do any time tests when I had the Droid (just dropped it off at Fedex today) but that thing isn't a sipper when it comes to battery usage. I think if I started at 100% at work, by works end it would be at best 40% but probably around 30% or so.
I think HTC's get better then 4 hours unplugged. Pretty sure my wife has her Eris unplugged at work and obviously gets more then 4 hours. One thing to remember is if you have a bunch of widgets that constantly update thats gonna drain you battery pretty good.

None. Most likely Best Buy would already be running pre-orders for the phone. Also I don't think even Verizon would keep quite this long about a phone like the Incredible. Yes they did about the Eris, but that shared the launch day with the Droid.

I wouldn't think this phone would get any marketing before release (TV wise anyway). This isn't a phone people (besides us) will be waiting for the store to open up to buy. It would be wiser for Verizon to start advertising on release day so when someone sees the ad they can go in and buy it.

A quick question, from the flickr pics that I posted last night, that show a date of some day recent.. does a phone get released even during the testing stages? If not, how long does it typically take after company testers are done to the release of the phone? I'm assuming since our "sources" were still messing around with the phones, that it is still in testing stages right? so i'm assuming there are still finalization stages and things of that sort, correct?

Just FYI, t-mobile is doing an internal HTC launch event for the HD2 on March 11th. I can't say where or when but expect some t-mobile reps to have this in their hand afterwards which means you might be able to check one out in person before the launch date if you ask nicely. heard it here first. I'M AWESOME!

Is it dumb for Verizon to let that happen? YES!
is it T-Mo going to release 3 top end phones before Verizon? YUP I can easily see this happening....

I think any other leak from the testers is pretty much done.. several of the testers have cleared all their tweets from their twitter accounts. Alot of the tweets were 1. done through HTC Peep and 2. cell phone pics .. so I'm assuming the word of what happened with the youtube video is spreading, and no ones taking any chances.

Or you can get a 10,000ft extension cord. I was offering options for an individual on-the-go who may not have the time to plug their phone into the wall two or more times a day, at least not with the 3ft cord that comes with the phone.

Yup. i posted this in the N1vsIncredible thread. as much as i want to believe verizon will release the incredible beforehand to take as many sales from the n1 as possible, i don't think its going to happen. obviously, it'd be logical for verizon to do so, but like you said, they tend to make some illogical decisions sometimes.

Then customers like me who are on a two year plan and
are only one year into the contract are eligible for upgrade pricing on a Verizon phone but won't be eligible for upgrade pricing on the N1.

So, I'll still be waiting for the Incredible since I can't justify paying full price.
I'm sure there are others in my boat as well.

Also, those on family plans can't get upgrade pricing on the N1.

So unless Google changes the terms for Verizon. Hopefully, they do, then there will still be many that would wait for the Incredible.

There's also the advantage of insurance and service on the Incredible through Verizon.

So, maybe that's why Verizon doesn't need to rush the Incredible out the door before March 23.

Not only people on NE2, but anyone on a family plan cannot upgrade to at a discounted price from what I understand.
