LOL. I see how you guys are now that pg figured out recovery and you got roms and kernels to flash. Figured I'd let you guys know since before cwm was ready I saw people complianing about the esteem not being one of thier devices. JMO it couldn't hurt to have more dev support for that phone. I'm sure PG has it under control but xda would mean more devs and a lot more roms and kernels.
Not to mention more support in general.

See the thing I wonder is why do its members have to vote? I mean seriously? Why not just make the forums? Makes no sense.
That's why AF is my home and always will be. A new phone comes out? BAM here's the forum for it. There's no "oh oh oh me pick me! Pick my phone!!" If you get a phone and if Android Forums doesn't beat you to the punch already and have a forum for it,all you have to do is swing by the Suggestion and Feedback section of the site and drop Phases, the site admin who is actively in the section communicating and listen to the users, a post that says "Hey I just got a <phone name> and see you don't have a forum for it, can we get one going?" Not only will he actually respond to you, he'll also probably most likely throw the forum up.
The whole voting thing is kind of lame. It doesn't matter how many people here vote, the votes will be out numbered by all the more popular phones and phones by the more popular carriers. Now I'm not knocking XDA at all, but its just plain stupid in my book to make your users vote for something that's going to make its own community even bigger.
That's just my 2 cents.

Valid 2 cents though. I never really understood why the voting was neccessary either. Who actually decides over at xda to add a phone anyway?

I getting flamed on here just as bad as the people your talking about on there. just for posting and thought I was trying to help out. I'm not even gonna go any further than saying none of you must have ever owned a device that had an actual dev community. That's why I won't buy metro branded phones. MODS DELETE this was a waste of space.

Kind of like how me, you and PNut were virtually PRAISED the other night for helping out monica for ...what'd she say.... 2.5 hours at 3 o'clock in the morning just to get him/her up and running GSE. that was just me confirming we are second to none but i do agree that we would be amazingly better off with more devs. I vote to try but if we fail, we are here to stay and never go away!
Quite a few of us own/have owned Android devices from many different carriers and manufactures.

I know that. I myself am a metro subscriber and was an ascend owner so I peek in here to see pg's progress with the esteem. I was gonna buy an esteem but my addiction to themeing and flashing various roms took me elsewhere for the time being. I've been highly debating buying an esteem so i can have 4g though. I'm just loving the speed of dual cores I wish metro would come out with a dual core phone. I'm actually thinking of putting my 3vo on cl if anyone bites for close to esteem price you will probably see a lot more of me. : ) only reason I put that here was a while back when I was peeking in I saw threads with people asking why it wasn't over there. So I thought I would just give a heads up. Didn't mean to offend anyone. Once i switched to other phone like the EVO and EVO 3d and saw the amount of roms developers and kernels I was amazed. My thought was having the esteem on xda would just have more developers interested and deving for it even if they didn't own one.

Youre not getting "flamed", Sorry if you feel that way, Me personally all I was trying to say was its lame to have to vote. And this is literally about the 4th time since the Esteem has been out XDA has done this "Pick me please" vote thing. We have PG who by the way gets help from people from XDA when he can, We have MTMichealson who is with the Rev on XDA, we have SPC who came over from XDA, and we have KaneOfMars a themer of the Rev from XDA, also Aplus and Idrifta so why play the voting game AGAIN when the Esteem community is already building/has built its dev community, when there is no guarantee that there will be a bigger nor better dev community over there for the phone? Theyve all known about the Esteem but besides the ones I named and the ones that helped PG none of them have taken interest in the Esteem. In which I thank every single one of the ones that have taken interest in the dev of this phone. So personally, me only, am not taking the time to vote for what should already be given considering their all about forums but want to have an election of which phone is worthy.

I totally see where you guys are coming from. I had just seen pg posting over there a few times when he was working on cwm. So when i saw the vote thing I was like hmmm I should let them know. The phone I own know doesnt have to.much dev support here its over there. Af is still my favorite forum for the exact reasons posted above. Next time I post something like that ill make sure there is no animosity toward the subject. : ) I'm sure ill be joining you guys over here soon I don't wanna be on anyone's bad side over it. LOL

The LG Connect comes out in the next few days on Metro and is 4G and dual-core.

That's right up my alley. I'm posting my 3d on craigslist now. I'll take a lower quality camera and display to have 4g I can't believe I didnt see that yet. Wonder what the price tags gonna be.
I take that back display isn't gonna be bad.
