Can I install a ROM without RADIO ? and does FORMAT (everything) affect RADIO ?

Hi
Nexus S I9020T , stock ICS ROM 4.0.3 , stock radio that comes with ICS , unrooted ........

I will :
* unlock bootloader .
* flash CWM recovery .

Three questions please :
---------------------------
1.Can I re-install the same stock ICS ROM (from CWM recovery) for my device after deleting the radio file from the ROM zip ?
2.Will FORMAT everything (system , boot , data , cache) and factory reset in clockworkmod recovery WILL ERASE the radio already on my Nexus S ?
3.Will the current radio stay after flashing and reboot ?

1. Installing a stock ICS ROM in CWM will return you to the stock recovery, removing CWM. If you modify the ROM in anyway, you'll have to resign it, though CWM is capable of flashing unsigned updates. If you're trying to get a different radio installed, you can install a radio only file through CWM.

2. Format Everything will not touch CWM; however, unless the method you use to install CWM includes a script to reflash it with every boot, you'll go back to the stock recovery every time you reboot the phone.

3. Any radio you flash will stay until you flash another such as in a ROM or update.

my questions are about the radio not CWM

Format Everything in CWM will not affect the radio. But erasing the radio files from the stock ROM before installing it isn't a good idea. Just use CWM to flash whichever radio file you want (make sure it's compatible with your device first of course). It's a lot easier than trying to erase if from a ROM install file, and safer too.

What is the best way in your opinion I can "push" a new Camera shutter sound and a "touch sound" replacing the stock files ? much preferably with out rooting the device ? adb + debug ? installing a "patch" to the system from CWM ? that's my only goal

Well that's not exactly something I've ever put much thought into doing something like that, but I'd root and then use ADB. I believe the camera sounds are in /system/media/audio/ui.
