I see this when I go to various sites. What is the reason for moving to the SD card? And what are the pros and cons?

Some phones have very limited internal storage and were limited in how many apps could be installed. I had the problem on my OG Droid. When Froyo came out you had a native option to move apps to the SD Card freeing internal storage for more apps. I think your DX has 8GB of internal, so it shouldn't be an issue for you.
