Help Does anyone else have problems with the keyboard randomly weirding out?

I'll be typing a text and suddenly the phone will automatically select random letters instead of the ones that I'm trying to select. I'll wait a few seconds and try typing again, and it's like the touchscreen's position has been offset and (for example) hitting the P key will instead trigger the S key. What's going on?

There could be two user-sided possibilities that happened, I had this problem too.

First is that two fingers get on the touchscreen, One finger goes in and the other comes just as the other finger lefts causing this slide to the other finger. It happens that the touch is super sensitive (even when the fingers are hovering, even through factory screen protector) so it takes a while to get used to.

And second, it could be a non-OEM USB cable through charge. I know that happened to me with the LG Optimus V cable, my keyboard types whatever the heck it wants, I unplugged it and the touchscreen works normally, the worst case scenario was that the LG Optimus cable crashed my live wallpaper and some functions hiccups.

I do not know if it is hardware related, it is very unlikely otherwise that would be fixed quickly. I hope this helps, otherwise that is the best to my knowledge by experience. :)

Its because the touchscreen on the MT is a POS and if you happen to have to fingers on the screen even for a split second the axis will lock up and will go to a different letter. Also the screen will ignore touches as well.

I have also found that if your 2nd thumb is hovering above with just the right distance while texting it will cause this to happen.. as well as if you are texting with cold thumbs for those of us who get below freezing while texting haha

I found a keyboard via asking for news and found one where it doesn't do it so much and that one is SwiftKey X.. theres a month trial, but Im probably not going to the 3$ for it because the auto predict gets annoying vs just a dictionary that I had with the gingerbread keyboard i had before

This is the likely issue, I've seen it happen as well.

ive had the problem happen to me with the factory screen protector removed. but since i got a new triumph like 3 days ago (it has the factory protector on it) ive only had the problem once.

now i use swype alot so i dont notice it much. :D (i am really fast with swype!)

I just got that a couple days ago.. I love it! I do not think I will ever go back to regular touch screen keyboard

in case you are wondering where to try it.. beta.swype.com .. its 100% free once you get use to it you will rarely run into any keyboard issues

IMO swype sucks. But that's just me never liked never will. I like typing on keys not swyping and what's the point of installing it and disabling the swype function of it? lol. But to each their own.
