Took a walk to the Verizon store during lunch, asked them about the Nexus One and they said Verizon would not be carrying the N1 in store, when I asked him about the Incredible he told me he has heard about it but doesn't know when it will launch.

This is news since they we're still hush hush about any new phones a month ago and tried to change the subject. The most I got was "we have many great phones in our lineup for this year. (now back to your plan changes)"

I don't know if I agree here, Apple's not worrying about how anything 'looks' as far as attacking another American company in this economy. Money is all that matters to a corporation of their size. Everyone here is in agreement, Android is the real target here. Last I checked Google is as American as they come. No matter how they've staged this to look, they are attacking Google/Android.

Someone else here made a post a few back that basically said they're trying to stop manufactures from supporting Android, which makes more sense, they're trying to make an example of whats to come if a manufacturer starts supporting an Open Source Archictecture on their devices, by picking on the smallest of the group that is currently producing Android phones.

I believe in my heart, Motorola was on that whiteboard, they just said "Hey, HTC is more likely to cave first which will cost us less."

I'm not calling you wrong, I just disagree, in my opinion, if Apple had to choose between image and livelyhood, image will lose every time, it's about preserving the dominance of their corporation. It's about money.

But most people won't bother looking at all the patents involved so they wont know its really an attack against Google. They'll just see a foreign company supposedly doing something illegal against an American company. Maybe I'm wrong but I don't think HTC being foreign was the main reason, it just made picking them easier.
Personally I just hope I see Steve jobs walking along the street so I can bitch slap him with a borrowed Droid.

I'd be interested if he could at least give us a nod if the memory specs are better than we are speculating (256).

Asked him that last night, Axel, and he said he couldn't comment on it. And then got fussed at to not get him in trouble by attempting to get him to answer that

She doesn't know what she is talking about because you asked about Android smartphones except the droid and eris and she mentions the droid and eris then goes on to mention the TP2 which is a WinMo smartphone.

Perhaps they either don't know or were told May as a fake date so that they keep pushing the ones they have and increase sales?

Any possibility May just means when it becomes available through corporate sales channels? Whohappy, have you ever noticed a lag on new phones being offered in store and through your rep? don't know if I can wait for May.

I never noticed a lag. However she did tell me that I can't buy in a store, only online or I lose my discount. I'm not sure if that is new or not. My last phone purchase was online. I sign in often through my work link looking for clues.

Does anyone else have a work rep they can tickle? It only scares me a bit because she took the time to send me a second email. In my fantasy she said 'by may'... but alas she didn't

I don't get how they could comment on it or why they would through a Verizon e-mail. That could be tracked and checked and couldn't she get in big trouble if the employees are told not to comment on phones that aren't official? Just seems like she went way out on a limb.

Look at Motorola Devour. You can buy it at bestbuy or walmart right now for sure but not listed on Verizon website. I think just opposite of what you are saying. My local walmart had 3 of them in stock and hasn't sold one yet. That was as of yesterday when I swung by there at 4pm.

and verizon has the buy one get one free.. so why not have a huge sale to push a lot of phones before they release something better

wait so she didn't say may? I am confused.

Ok, I will re-post what my former student wrote. He is a Verizon Wireless Customer Service Tech
I don't have access to those sort of inventory systems but I can tell you that the screen shots going around with those skus listed are absolutley legit. One is a dummy unit, ending in du and the other one is a the working phone. When will be getting this? Hard to say. I would bet within the next two months. We will have both the Incredible and Nexus One coming out this spring.

So, Fear not yet.........We have two close sources saying March, April!

You guys, I have talked to VZW reps as well, and some no nothing about the incredible. Nashdroid is right, we know more about these phones than these people. I wouldn't get worked up over this lady saying May. It means jack shit.

Some people I talk to know nothing about it. Others know of it from Engadget. Some asshole I asked at my local VZW store said "i don't know anything about how the N1 will be sold, and the incredible, no idea, but I'd assume that would be our thanksgiving/Christmas time of the year phone" They know nothing more than we know.

However, we will be selling the HTC Incredible in early May if you can hold out until then.ds

She didn't say that they won't be selling it in late April, early April, or Late March.....she only said they will be selling it in early May.

If it really is released in May and not March, I will definitely pull the trigger with N1 - not that it would be devastating, especially if the Inc. ended up with 256mb RAM

If the Nexus One is released and we have no info on the Incredible, I will have to jump ship. I think I have 30 days to try the Nexus and maybe in that time the Incrediable will be out.

I guess I will just keep my two batteries charged up and wait. This kind of sucks. I got that email from a representative last night and he said customers and the network was Verizon's primary concern. If I would be that stack of money on the Geico commercials then they would care about me.

If it comes out in May I might as well wait for the SuperSonic.

Me to expect Sprint coverage is weak where I live. The 1st of this year wmt stopped insurance billing for vision and is leaving it up to the Dr's to bill their own. The Dr's are not employeed by wmt directly, so they now have to get internet run to the vision center if they want to bill online. Wmt will not let them use wifi because will interfere with their network. This is a very big expense because they have to a line ran to the store, then a data crew has to come in and run it inside the store. My boss told me they where looking at another option that would be cheaper. I was thinking sprint with wimax because would not interfere with wifi.

We know there is a lot of rumor out there. We can be patient a bit longer. If we don't hear anything in the next 2 to 3 weeks then I will believe her. I will not fret until then. She stated
I just spoke to my device contact and we will not be selling the Google phone. Google will be selling it directly.

However, we will be selling the HTC Incredible in early May if you can hold out until then.

Hopefully her device contact (whoever that my be within Verizon) is wrong. I feel like I brought the thread down with the post for which I apologize. Someone please find something to pick us back up. I miss my lady wood. :p:D

I'm with you on that. I'm definitely going to get the N1 if I don't have any concrete info on a release date for the Incredible.

Also, anyone heard the saying 'my enemy's enemy is my friend?' In my fantasy, Google AND Microsoft team up with HTC to destroy apple
