Help Nook with cm7 keeps turning off

KayHai

Newbie
I have a Nook color that I just rooted and installed cm7 and its has been great. I brought it over to my friends house and he was playing with it, now every time it goes into sleep mode it turns off. this wasnt happening before i brought it to his house. is this a known issue? Is there a way I can fix this without reflashing cm7? thanks in advance.

What do you mean by "turning off"?

What did your friend do to it? Change anything?

There is an issue known as "SOD" (sleep of death) with some roms where it sleeps and you have to power off (hold down the power button) to get out of it. It's usually caused by changing the setting for your network to turn off wifi when sleeping. If you haven't changed this setting then it probably doesn't apply.

In wifi settings, tap the menu button and choose advanced.

Make sure wifi isn't set to turn off with the display or sleeping (I forget which is asks).

If that doesn't work, you might want to consider updating to 7.2 Mirage. I have no experience with that rom.

I just installed Juice Defender on my girlfriends Nook Color (running CM 7.1) in order to turn off the wifi when screen is off. First I noticed a huge power savings, but often now the power drains very fast without doing anything. Are these related?
Thanks.

You need to check your battery stats to see what app is using it.

I stupidly bought juice defender a year ago (don't recall why) and found I had better battery life without it.

You might try turning it off and see how battery life is.
