Root SOLVED: Lost my 5-bar signal indicator - want it back

When I let the OTA update occur, I got the 5-bar signal indicator. I put on Incredikernal beta 3-1 and then CleanROM 1.6 and still had 5 bars (I think). Last week I went back to CleanROM 1.5.5, tried out RezROM and its kernel, didn't like it, went back to CleanROM 1.5.5 and Incredikernel. Somewhere along the way the 5-bar indicator went back to the 4-bar indicator even though I still have the new radio from the OTA.

Anyone know how I can EASILY get back the 5-bar indicator? Thanks.

Solved - I uninstalled Incredikernel (wasn't THAT much faster) and installed CleanROm 1.7. Got my 5 bars back. Must have been Incredikernel that overwrote the status bar. CORRECTION - it was CleanROM 1.5.5 that reverted the signal indicator per post below.

I know this is a little off topic but with 1.7 do you have any issues connecting to wifi? I went from 1.5.5 to 1.7 and wifi will not fully connect, just keeps trying to obtain address.

No problems connecting to WiFi with 1.7.

However, I had often received "error" when trying to connect to WiFi with previous versions and I sort of remember that it was because I was trying to flash a ROM without wiping first. Or maybe it was because I flashed the ROM without the kernel. Sorry my memory isn't better to help.

Usually that is a kernel error. You need to make sure to flash the appropriate kernel.

I think you went from the 1.x to 2.x so you just need to get the stock kernel for 2.x and flash that and it should work.

Oh... I see you aren't getting that "error" when you turn it on. So this might not be your solution but it can't hurt to try it.

I got it to work, not sure if it was the ROM, my router or a combo of both but I reset my router and reflashed and it worked so who knows.

I know with 1.5.5 I had the error message with wifi and I had to install a kernel for it to work but I'm up and running. This ROM has amazing battery life compared to the others.so this looks like a keeper.
